An only child, whose parents died when he was very young, Ice T became involved in L.A. gangs before spending four years in the Army. Through his music, his roles in TV and film, his books, and his lecture tours of America’s prisons, high schools, libraries, and colleges, Ice T has become an influential spokesman for America’s youth, regardless of color. He has starred in NBC’s “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” as Detective Odafin Tutuola for 20 years.
