Map Information Timor-Leste has been severely impacted by flooding after heavy rainfall occurred in the first days of April 2021. Many people are affected, search and rescue activities are ongoing. The activation of CEMS Rapid Mapping has been requested to assess the impact of the flood in the affected areas.

The present map shows the flood delineation in the area of Ainaro (Timor-Leste). The thematic layer has been derived from post-event satellite image using a semi-automatic approach. Please be aware that the tematic accuracy to identify flood traces and flooded areas might be lower in the AOI due to haze on the post-event image. The scale of analysis is 1:15000. The estimated geometric accuracy (RMSE) is 6 m or better, from native positional accuracy of the background satellite image. The minimum mapping unit (MMU) is 576 sq m.
