3. Why did their wedding lead to the Trojan War? Eris had not been invited to the wedding, so to take revenge, she left an apple “for the fairest” on the table of the goddesses. Nobody could decide which one should get the apple, so Zeus asked Paris, a prince of Troy, to choose. The bribe by Aphrodite to choose her as the fairest led to ten years of war.
