What does this mean for future residents? With such minute detailing and individuality, we are not only creating a worthy building in the urban space at Köllnischer Park, but also a nice row of high-value properties. In central Berlin, we perceive ourselves as inhabitants of a small, elegant and noble entity, with few close neighbours. So, living here is straightforward and individual and it feels like a pleasant retreat. A place of rest which is forward-looking at the same time, opening up a good deal to the city – if the resident so wishes.

What is the basic idea you worked with here? NADIA KAYAT It was important to us to SUBTLE work with and develop what was already here. The hotel and even the gastronomic industry does a great job of making the maximum use of rooms and assigning specific purposes to individual areas. And given, that there is a trend towards smaller housing units, it is possible to transfer this in part. Again, light plays a big role in creating intimacy and the perfect mood and creates a subtle yet palpable distance between residential and working areas, for example.
