I de tilfelle bebodde områder ble ført over fra en kommune til en annen fra 1. januar 1969 er folketal1et for de aktuelle kommuner rettet. På grunnlag av meldingene om fødsler, dødsfall og flyttinger i 1969 er folketallet for hver kommune regnet fram til 1. januar 1970. På tilsvarende måte som for 1969 er det foretatt oppretting i ekee kommues folketall i samsvar med grensereguleringer fra 1. januar 1970. De folketall som er gitt for 1. januar 1969 og endringstallene for 1968 i denne publikasjonen vil ved en tilbakeregning ikke gi nøyaktig de folketall som tidligere er publisert for 1. januar 1968. Årsaken er at det sentrale personregisteret holdes løpende A jour for alle eige som blir meldt, også slike som gjelder tidligere år, men som av en eller ae grunn ikke er komme inn så tidlig at en har fått dem med i årsstatistikken.     Local Government Dataset∗ Jon H. Fivay Askill Halsez Gisle James Natvikx April 27, 2012 Abstract This panel data set covers Norwegian local governments from 1972 to 2011 and was originally constructed for an analysis of the strategic use of public capital (Fiva and Natvik, 2012). The fiscal policy variables are constructed from account data provided by the Norwegian Social Science Data Service (NSD). The dataset includes detailed information on spending decisions on eight different sectors, local tax policy, elections, and demographics. In this manuscript we give a detailed description of each variable included in the dataset. When using the data, please cite as follows: Fiva, Jon H., Askill Halse and Gisle J. We exploit the unique institutional context of Nor- way's historical two-round system, and data measured at the municipality level, to evaluate the mobilizational impact of voter attachment to parties versus (local) candidates. Under this system, entry into the second round was unrestricted, with the number and identity of candidates determined by elite coordination decisions.

Did you know… • The length of the Norwegian main pipeline network (water, sewage and surface water pipelines) is equivalent to 2.5 times around the Equator. • On average, Norwegian households pay NOK 3,000 in water fees and NOK 3,400 for sewage per annum. • It would cost approx. NOK 1,000 billion to reconstruct the entire Norwegian water and sewage network today. • Almost NOK 500 billion will be invested in Norway in installations, pipes and equipment up until 2030. The largest costs are due to the network not coping with the increased amount of precipitation. • The Norwegian water industry realises more than NOK 15 billion per annum and employees approx. 10,000 persons. In addition there are contractor activities. Clean water is not a certainty • Running water was installed in Norway in the last part of the 1800s and toilets during the 1900s. • Important reason why the lifespan in Norway has increased from just 50 years at the end of the 1800s to over 80 today.

    MESTO a DEJINY Narvik, a Swedish Norwegian Border Town Steinar Aas vol. 8, 2019, 1, pp. 54-79 DOI: https://doi.org/10.33542/MAD2019-1-03 This article gives an insight into the industrialization and colonization processes of northern Scandinavia. Urbanization due to industrialization is a vital part of the perspective, and brings us into an industrial mega system in Swedish Lapland in the late nineteenth century based on iron ore export. It was to be connected to the industrial centre of Europe, especially the Ruhrgebiet of Germany, and paved the way for a new kind of urban development in peripheral Europe – the industrial network town. The history and foundation of the Norwegian harbour town Narvik is vital for gaining insight into this mega system. By studying Narvik we can envisage particularities of, and similarities and diff erences between Norway and Sweden when it comes to their urban economic foundations, urban development/planning regimes, and the relations between the municipalities, the modern nation states and the dominating companies. Even the development of a uniquely Scandinavian identity connected with the labour movement and the development of a post-war social democrat order visibly results from the new industries. Thus the common Swedish-Norwegian fi gure of the rallar – something like navvy or construction worker – has a signifi cant place in this study, and the use of the fi gure in addition to later processes of memory creation, both within the Norwegian and Swedish labour movements, is addressed. Treatment of samples and counting equipment have remained essentially the same as described previously (R, 1972, v 14, p 418-419). Counting equipment and improvements are described in more detail by Gulliksen (1972). Our counters 2, 5 and 6 now have backgrounds/re- cent standard net counts of respectively .8cpm/ 19.3cpm, l.lcpm/ 11.7cpm, and .55cpm/7.6cpm. Guard Counter GM3 (Nydal, 1965) shielding our Counter 2, has been continuously working for 3 years without refilling or purification of the propane counting gas (1.2atm). Gyttja samples are now dated by using the NaOH-soluble fraction whenever the quantity of sample material is sufficient. Ages are calculated by applying the Libby value 5570 ± 30 years, for the 14C half life, and using 95% of NBS oxalic acid activity as contem- standard referring to AD 1950.

Mangelfull jernbaneutbygging i nord er en viktig årsak til sviktende verdiskaping, redusert markedstilgang og markert fraflytting fra landsdelen fra midten av 1960-tallet. Norge mangler en framtidsrettet jernbanestrategi for landet nord for Fauske. Evnen til lokal og regional vekst vil styrkes gjennom effektiv og pålitelig transport til sentrale markeder, internasjonalt og nasjonalt. Klima-regnskapet vil også hente viktige gevinster. Videreføring av Nord-Norgebanen Fauske – Narvik, og videre mot nord, anbefales tatt inn i den Nasjonale transportplan 2018 - 2029. Grundige og oppdaterte nytte/kostnads-vurderinger bør være en sentral del av et nytt utredningsarbeid. Det er ikke usannsynlig at industriell vekst i Nordland gjennom de siste tiårene vil styrke nytteverdiene i forhold til NSBs hovedutredning fra 1992. Det er mest logisk, sannsynligvis det mest lønnsomme og strategisk sett det klokeste at jernbaneutbygging i Nord-Norge skjer i riktig rekkefølge. Følgende prioritering anbefales. 1. Dobbeltspor Ofotbanen 2. Fauske - Narvik med modernisering av Nordlandsbanen 3. Narvik - Tromsø med sidearm til Harstad/Vesterålen 4. Troms - Alta/Finnmark. Ofotbanen er allerede inne i NTP-forslaget med 2 mrd kroner. Nytte-/kosnadsbrøken er 2,09. Det er suverent det mest lønnsomme av samtlige investeringsprosjekt i grunnlagsdokumentet for ny Nasjonal transportplan, - hele Sør-Norge inkludert! Transport henger sammen, - farleder, havner, fylkesveier, riksveier og jernbane er mer eller mindre avhengig av hverandre. Det er leverandører og kunder som velger transportløsningene.
