THINGS TO DO AND SEE
Strøget - One of the longest pedestrian streets in Europe with an array of cafés and boutiques. Many stores are closed on Sunday.
Nyhavn - A picturesque 17th-century canal with colorful houses along the waterfront.
National Museum of Denmark (Nationalmuseet) - Contains fascinating exhibits that focuses on 14,000 years of Danish history and cultural exhibits from around the world. Closed on Mondays. For information, visit https://en.natmus.dk/
The Little Mermaid Statue (Den Lille Havfrue) - The world-famous statue based on Hans Christian Anderson’s fairy tale. Bus 26 stops close to the statue, or take the water ferry from Nyhavn to the Nordre Toldbod ferry stop and walk 10 minutes from there.
Carlsberg Brewery tour - Tour the factory where this internationally popular beer is made. Go on a tour, or take the S-train and walk 5 minutes from the Carlsberg Station.

Copenhagen has a great public transportation system. The best way to get around is either by Metro, bus, train, or ferry. Taxis are also available. There is no word for “please” in the Danish language, so conversations can seem a bit abrupt to people from North America.

Tipping
It is not customary to tip in Denmark. You are welcome to tip if you like, but it is not expected. Service charges are usually included in the bill for restaurants, taxis, etc. Tour guides are an exception to this; most guides will appreciate or expect a tip.
Electric Current
Plugs in Denmark look like this, so you will need an adapter. Voltage is 220- 240, whereas in the U.S. and Canada it is 110, so you will also need a converter. However, most chargers these days have a box which will act as a converter. If your charger says “Input: 100-240V, 50/60 Hz” then you do not need to use a converter.
