I Guardian OPINION Get rid of parents The continued violence in West Virginia due to the public school textbook dispute there seems to be endless. A bi-partisan committee, after looking over the textbooks, came up with a compromise decision where the parents of each child could decide individually on whether they want their child- ren to read the textbooks or be given an alter- native. COUNTRIES This should satisfy all sides, since there still is in the community a large group of parents who like the textbooks. Rut the side against the textbooks still has elements within it who are continuing their violent acts, even against innocent children. Since the textbooks they oppose contain writings from black radicals, it would seem that this group's opposition is also a case of blatant racism. The violence which has occurred in our schools because of controversial issuer, like Overpopulation bussing and textbooks is deplorable.
