3 Notes from The Editor

Wishing to give Lisa a rest from putting the Informer together we advertised for someone to take over the editing and layout. With there being no one else coming forward I have stepped forward to fill the breach. Whilst I have looked after the village website ( www.isleham- village.co.uk ) for the past seven years this edition of the Informer will be my first stab at the paper version. Apologies in advance for any errors but with time and perseverance these will be reduced. I am hoping to introduce a few new items in future editions i.e. naming people in old photos, also with the families permission the reposting of Joyce Drayton’s poems from the older Informers. Thank you Lisa, you have been great. I hope you enjoy this February edition with the photographs and articles showing the Festival of Light in St Andrews church. Thanks to all for organising this annual event and all that had trees and displays. Thanks must also go to all that contribute articles and pictures, (we are always looking for more) to those who advertise with us, and to all the help to put all these bits together and then distribute the Informer. A belated Healthy New Year to you all, and may 2019 bring you health and happiness. Clive Patterson

We have seen a rise in our young leaders’ numbers offering us more support within the sections. However we are on the look out for anyone who would like to come on board as an assistant leader with our cub section. They are a very active section doing many fun and exciting things. We are looking for someone with a passion to share with the youth of today and to be instrumental in the shaping of the adults they will become. This can come in the shape of teaching them new games (maybe even ones we played ourselves as youngsters) willing to committing to helping out at least twice a month at our weekly meet- ings on a Tuesday evening 6.30-8pm.
