En su segunda etapa, la corbeta partió de Guaymas, el 23 de abril de 1896, ya bajo el mando del mexicano Ángel Ortiz Monasterio, y alcanzó el Puerto de Veracruz el 3 de julio del año siguiente, luego de cruzar el Pacífico, el Índico, el Mediterráneo y el Atlántico.

La reconstrucción de ese viaje fascinante se la debemos al historiador Ricar- do Orozco, cuyo libro “La Corbeta Zaragoza”, le recomiendo ampliamente.

Agüita has three brands of distillates of its own, and their raicilla em- ploys for its elaboration, as a complement, a hollow fig tree log. The log’s vapor impregnates the beverage providing aromas and flavors that are impossible to obtain from copper.

The Agüita Raicilla is 40% alc/vol and in it you can detect ripe orange aromas, and after a while, a fruity sweetness, earth and smoked fig tree wood; the tastes to the palate are smoked.

Agüita tiene tres marcas propias de destilados y la de raicilla emplea en su elaboración, como complemento, un tronco hueco de higuera. Los vapores del tronco impregnan la bebida dándole aromas y sabores que es imposible obtener del cobre.

La Raicilla Agüita tiene 40 grados de alcohol y en ella puedes distinguir aromas a naranja madura, y pasado un rato, dulzor frutal, tierra y madera de higuera ahumada; los sabores al paladar son ahumados.

Con esta variedad de destilados y en un momento en el que la mixología está en boga, es natural que Agüita ofrezca una amplia carta de cocteles para quienes aún no se animan a tomar un trago “derecho”.

Así es como surgen mezclas exquisitas como el Agüita sucia, un mix que tiene, entre otros ingredientes secretos, mezcal de la casa, jugo de naranja y arándano, agua mineral y Cointreau.

“A la mayoría de la gente le gusta porque el trago es fresco, aunque sea oscuro y después de un par, te deja ver que no es vacilada, tiene su carácter”, comenta Adrián.
