Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala conducted the test for recruitment to vacant posts of Clerk-cum-Data Entry Operator in the department of Advocate General Punjab, on June 24th, 2018. The answer key for the paper was uploaded on June 25th, 2018 and the objections pertaining to any of the keys were invited upto June 29th, 2018.

After due consultation with the experts of the specific area, some of the objections were found valid and its modified key is provided below. Candidates, who raised the objections, will receive the solution of the question through their registered Email. The question for which the original key was found valid are also provided alongside.

Explanation: As all of the four named mentioned in options are recipients of Bharat Ratna Award; henceforth this question has been CANCELLED.

II QUERIES FOUND VALID AND THE CHANGES IN THE KEY OF THE QUESTION PAPER INCORPORATED

If in a certain language GRASP is coded as BMVNK, which of the following word would be coded as CRANE?

A) FUDQH B) HWFSJ C) GVERI D) XMVIZ

Explanation: "GRASP" is written as "BMVNK". This was done by subtracting 5 from the alphabetical order number of the word "GRASP" i.e." 7 for G, 18 for R, 1 for A, 19 for S, 16 for P". When we subtract 5 from each of the alphabetical order of the word "GRASP", we will get the alphabetical order of the code word which is "BMVNK" as "2 for B, 13 for M, 22 for V, 14 for N, 11 for K" Similarly, since the word has to be found for which the code is 'CRANE' we have to add 5 to each of the alphabet C, R, A, N and E that will give the code 'HWFSJ'.

Considering that candidates may have interpreted the question as to find the code for 'CRANE'. Thus, when we subtract 5 from the alphabetical order no of the word "CRANE or 3,18,1,14,5" we will get the required code word which is "XMVIZ or 24,13,22,9,26)

Henceforth, options B and D both are correct.

III QUERIES FOR QUESTION NUMBERS 7, 16, 21, 25, 27, 29, 30, 35, 40, 44, 60, 62, 71, 75, 78, 79, 83, 85, 90 and 98 ARE FOUND INVALID AND THE ANSWER KEY AS UPLOADED WAS FOUND TO BE CORRECT.

The result will be declared on 6th July, 2018 and subsequently admit cards for skill test would be issued. The skill test would held as per the schedule given on the website.
