The problem is that even though 44% of the 2.1 million residents of Houston, the largest city in Texas, the fourth largest in the United States, are of Latino or Hispanic origin, we still don’t welcomesee or hear much about Latinos in the hotel or airplane tourism guides. The Latino Public Radio Consortium exists to make Latinos more visible. At our national Summit of Latino Public Radio we highlight the contributions of Latinos to the city in which Latino public radio stations from across the country and Puerto Rico are gathering.
