S 3 e n - V I S I z n 3.3.2 AMBIENT AIR QUALITY The ambient air samples were collected from eight locations and analyzed for PM10, PM2.5, SO2 and NOx. 3 As per the monitoring, PM10, PM2.5, SO2 and NOx, level were in the range of 56.0-84.0 μg/m , 30.0-53.0 μg/m3, 4.8-18.2 μg/m3 and 12.5-31.5 μg/m3 respectively. The results of the monitored data indicate that the ambient air quality of the region in general is in conformity with respect to rural / residential norms of National Ambient Air Quality standards of Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), with present level of activities. 3.3.3 SURFACE WATER QUALITY MONITORING Total eight numbers of surface water samples have been collected from the study area. The result of all the surface water collected shows that the water quality of the surface water sources are within the permissible norms stipulated by CPCB. 3.3.4 GROUND WATER QUALITY MONITORING Eight numbers of ground water samples in the study area have been collected from ground water sources. The water samples were collected and analyzed for physical, chemical and microbiological characteristics as per CPCB guidelines and approved methods. All the samples are conforming to the prescribed drinking water standards. 3.3.5 BACKGROUND NOISE LEVEL Noise level has been measured at eight different locations. The Project site is fall in category of industrial area and the noise level was found 48.6-62.8 dBA in daytime and 42.4-52.5 dBA in night time. The noise levels varied in the residential area of the study area is 42.3-63.5 dBA during day time and 31.2-53.8 dBA during night time. 3.3.6 TRAFFIC DENSITY STUDY Traffic counts for one hour were carried out at National Highway No. 40 near project site and near the study area to provide the background traffic density.
