No. 327. THE VILLAGE AUTHORITIES LAW'. CAP. 256 AND LAW 17 OF 1951.

PROCLAMATION UNDER SECTION 18 («).

J. FLETCHER­COOKE, Acting Governor. Whereas there now exists within the area of the village of Xerovounos in the District of a settlement known as ; And whereas it is found expedient that the said settlement should be a quarter of the village of Xerovounos : Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers vested in me by section 18 (a) of the Village Authorities Law, and of every other power and authority Cap. 256. enabling me in that behalf, I, the Acting Governor, do hereby order and 17 of 1951. proclaim that from and after the ist October, 1953— ' (fl) the settlement known as " Limnitis " in the village of Xerovounos as more particularly described in Part I of the Schedule hereto shall, for all administrative purposes, form a quarter of the village of Xerovounos in the District of Nicosia, under the style of " Li­ mnitis quarter " of the said village ; {b) the remaining area of the village of Xerovounos as more particularly described in Part II of the said Schedule shall, for all adminis­ _ trative purposes, form another quarter of the said village, under the style of " Moutti quarter " of the said village. SCHEDULE. PART I. Boundary of Limnitis Quarter of Xerovounos Village.

Plot No. ι of the Government Survey Plan No. XVIII.39, an island " Petra tou Limniti " and the area surrounded by the boundary which commences at the north­western corner of plot No. 2 of the Government Survey Plan XVIII.47, locality " Asproulli", which corner is on the sea­shore and proceeds south­eastwards along the sea­shore to the north­eastern corner of plot No. 158 of the said plan, locality " Lamia", which corner is on the boundary between the villages of Xerovounos and Loutros; thence southwards along the said village boundary to the south­eastern corner of plot No. 61/1/1 of the Government Survey Plan No. XVIII.62, locality " Mutti tou Vounou ", which corner is .on the village road leading from the village of Loutros to the village of Xerovounos ; thence westwards along the said village road to its junction with a footpath, locality " Klimakin"; thence north­westwards along the said footpath through localities " Avro­ shillerin ", "Mersinoudhia" and " Lasetta " across the river Limnitis to the most southern point of plot No. 339 of the Government Survey Plan No. XVIII.54, locality " Mersinin ", which point is on a track leading from Amadhies village to the asphalt road near mile post No. 42 ; thence south­westwards along the said track to the south­western corner of plot No. 223 of the said plan, which corner is on the boundary between the villages of Xerovounos and Amadhies ; thence northwards along the said village boundary to the point of commencement.

The boundaries of the said plot and area are delineated in red on the Government Survey Plan Serial No. 1567.

PART II.

Boundary of Moutti Quarter of Xerovounos Village.

The boundary commences at the north­western corner of plot No. 218 of the Government Survey Plan No. XVIII.54, locality " Mandres ", which corner is on a track leading from Amadhies village to a point on the asphalt road between Polis and Xeros near mile post No. 42 and proceeds north­ eastwards· along the said track to the most southern point of plot No. 339 of the said plan, locality " Mersinin ", which point is at a junction of the said track with a footpath ; thence south­eastwards along the said footpath across the river Limnitis and through localities " Lasetta ", " Mersinoudhia", " Avroshillerin " and " Klimakin " to the ­most northern point of plot No. 9 of the Government Survey Plan No. XVIII.63, locality " Mutti tou Vounou", which point is on the boundary between the villages of Xero­ vounos and Loutros ; thence southwards and eastwards along the said village boundary to the most northern point of plot No. 109 of the said plan, locality " Khasoumies ", which point is on the boundary between the villages of Xerovounos and Varishia ; thence south­eastwards and south­ wards along the said village boundary to the most northern Doint of plot No. 3 of the Government Survey Plan No. XXVII.30, locality " Mutti ton Plakoudhon ", which point is on the boundary between the villages of Xerovounos and Kambos ; thence south­westwards along the said village boundary to the most southern point of plot No. 2 of the Government Survey Plan No. XXVII.29, locality " Xysti ", which point is on the boundary between the villages of Xerovounos and ; thence north­westwards and north­eastwards along the said village boundary to the north­eastern 411

corner of plot No. 28 of the Government Survey Plan No. XVIII.62, locality " Pilles ", which point is on the boundary between the villages of Xerovounos and Amadhies ; thence northwards along the said village boundary to the point of commencement, all which said boundary is shown edged red on the Government Survey Plan Serial No. 1576.

In exercise of the powers vested in me by section 7 of the Post Office Law, I, the Acting Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, do hereby order as follows :— 1. This Order may be cited as the Parcels Post (Rates of Postage) Order, 1953. 2. The respective rates of postage set forth in the Schedule hereto shall be charged by the Postmaster­General in respect of parcels posted in the Colony for conveyance to places therein mentioned. 3. This Order shall come into operation on the 9th day of July, 1953» and Gazettes: thereupon the Parcels Post (Rates of Postage) Orders, 1952 and 1953, shall be Suppl.
