The Highlanders Regimental Watch To Honour Our History

In April 1910 the people of Calgary proudly formed the 103rd (Calgary Rifles). At the outset of the Great War, the 103rd contributed the most soldiers to what became the 10th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force. Calgary’s fighting men were among the first Allied troops to encounter chlorine gas at Ypres near an oak plantation at St. Julien known as Kitcheners’ Wood. When French troops broke and ran in the face of poison gas, the10th Battalion were ordered Limited Edition Calgary Highlanders to counter attack at night directly into withering enemy machine gun fire. Highlanders have been in missions with NATO and the United Nations throughout the world—Cyprus, the Golan Heights, the former Yugoslavia, Cambodia, Somalia, Sudan, the Middle East and the war in Afghanistan to which it has contributed mightily.

To show your continued pride in the Regiment, its members and glorious history, we are honoured to be able to offer a Limited Edition Calgary Highlander Commemorative watch. The cost to you is only $70.00 dollars plus applicable sales tax and postage. The watch is being sold far below its actual retail value of approximately $200.00

The Calgary Highlander Commemorative watch has Seiko movements, raised 24K gold plating on its face, a curved crystal, an engraved case back and a designer Speidel leather band offered in black, blue and red in addition to a custom watch band in the striking regimental tartan. The tartan band is cloth on a leather backing. The watch will be delivered in an embossed velveteen collector’s box. A significant portion of the watch sales are being directed to the Calgary Highlanders Regimental Association.
