Blessing of Pets M At Home Guide In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

In the beginning, when God created the heavens and the earth, animals were created to accompany human beings as helpers and partners. Today we come together to praise God for the gifts of our own helpers and partners – our pets. Each of us knows the importance of our pets. They provide companionship, protection, and comfort. They are a very real sign of God’s creative presence among us. Let us be thankful for the gift of our pets.

P<+C/<

God of creation and everlasting goodness, we gather together today with our pets, your holy creatures that have become our guardians and companions. Bless us this day and keep up ever mindful that you are the giver of every good gift. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

(Genesis 2:19-20a)

So the Lord God formed out of the ground various wild animals and various birds of the air, and he brought them to the man to see what he would call them; whatever the man called each of them would be its name. The man gave names to all the cattle, all the birds of the air, and all the wild animals.

BLESSING

Dearest God, Heavenly Father. maker of all living creatures, we ask you to bless these pets, who brings so much joy into our lives. By the power of Your love, enable them to live according to your plan. May we always praise You for all Your beauty shown in creation and all Your creatures. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
