Elections 2021 Important Dates

Notice of Nomination Meeting, 3rd Friday in January Post Electors List, January 31 Deadline for Changes to Electors List, February 28 Nomination Meeting, 1st Sunday in the month of March Notice of Election, 30 days prior to election date

Where there is no candidate nominated for both the office of Kúkwpi7 and TЌwenem7i’ple7: - the poll to elect the Kúkwpi7 and TЌwenem7i’ple7 will be held on the 4th Sunday in the month of April between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.; or

Where there are candidates nominated for both the office of Kúkwpi7 and TKwenem7i’ple the poll: -To elect Kúkwpi7 will be held on the 2nd Sunday in the month of April between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.; and -To elect TK’wenem7i’ple7 will be held on the 1st Sunday of the month of May between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

COVID-19 CONTINGENCY PLAN In the event there are still restrictions on public gatherings due to COVID the elections will be postponed until such time as it is safe to conduct an election. A new temporary regulatory option allows leaders to continue exercising their roles and du- ties within their communities for up to 6 months, with the potential to extend for another 6 months. The final decision to hold or postpone an election belongs to the community leadership. ISC will support First Nations leaders in whichever option they choose. Secwepemc Children and Family Service Agency Child Welfare • 4 Staff assisted with the Prince George Engagement. 3 staff assisted with the Engagement. ● No statistical change in children in care • 2 staff attended and participated in SFN’s Jurisdiction Strategic Planning Session ● 3 new incidents in November

Social Development We have been busy planning the jurisdiction events for our “away from home” families. The weekend of October 23 we had an event n Prince George which was well attended, I thought! The weekend of November 13 to 15th we had an event in Kamloops for on and away from home members to provide infor- mation on the Yecwemintem Re Kwseltkten Kt .

If you need to see me please call ahead. You will be screened before you can come into my office. I will be dropping off renewal forms in the mailbox to clients the week before SA day, you can return them to the drop box by the main office by the end of that week. If you fail to return your renewal form by that Friday, your cheque will be held.

Membership MY HOURS I finally received status cards. As I got a limited amount of cards, registered Admin. Clerk Simpcw First Nation members will be served first. There is a fee of $50 to non- Mondays band members. You will be required to have 2 pieces of ID in order to apply 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a card. Thanks in advance for understanding. Fridays 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. I would like to encourage band members to update their address if they have moved. Please remind family members to do the same. There is a form on our Simpcw First Nation site or for long distance members, call our toll free Membership number. If you are in Vancouver you can make an appointment to get a card. There are still band members on the list who have passed away, the Executor Social Development can either send me a copy of the death certificate and I will submit it to Indige- Tuesday to Thursday nous Service Canada or you can submit when you register for the executor of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. the estate.
