Score Choice™ is an option that allows students to choose the scores they send to selected colleges for admissions purposes, as well as the scores they send to selected scholarship programs. Different colleges and scholarship programs use SAT® scores in different ways. In order to help students make an informed choice about the scores they send, we’ve collected SAT score-use practices from every college or scholarship program that chose to provide the requested information. 2. College and scholarship program SAT score-use practices referenced in Score Choice materials are based on information provided to us by each participating college or scholarship program. 3. The description of a particular SAT score-use practice in the Score Choice materials might not include every aspect of how a college or scholarship program uses a student’s score for admissions decisions. Additionally, SAT score-use practices for a particular college or scholarship program may change periodically and may not be automatically updated in Score Choice. Therefore, we recommend that students check with the college or scholarship program to which they are sending SAT scores to confirm its SAT score-use practice. 4. Where students send their scores, and which scores students send, are important decisions that students should research, consider carefully, and discuss with their parents and guidance counselors. While we have made available the information on score-use practices provided to us by participating colleges and scholarship programs, we are not responsible for the accuracy of this information. 5. For Students Sending Scores to College and University Systems: For certain college and university systems, once students submit their scores to one school, other schools within that system will also have access to students’ scores. Please note, however, that if students are applying to more than one school within a college or university system, it is still important for students to send their SAT scores to each individual school. If students are not sure whether the specific school they are applying to is part of such a system, they should contact the school’s admissions office. 6. This information is intended to notify you of score-use practices used by participating colleges, universities and scholarship programs as reported by such institutions to the College Board. This information shall be used by you only to assist students in their use of Score Choice, and for no other reason. The College Board shall not be liable to you or any affected individuals as a result of you providing information to students that is inconsistent with this document. 7. Note that this information will be updated on an annual basis, and it is your responsibility to ensure that you are referencing the most recent version, which will always be located at http://professionals.collegeboard.com/guidance/prepare/college-presentation. 3 SAT® Score-Use Practice Descriptions SAT Score-Use Practice Student-Focused Description Highest Section Scores Across Test Dates — Version 1 <University X> has indicated that it considers your highest section (Highest M, CR, W) scores across all SAT test dates that you submit.
