NOTICE OF ELECTION
South Lakeland District Council
Election of Parish Councillors
1. Elections are to be held for Parish Councillors for each of the Parishes or Parish Wards listed in the schedule below.
2. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer at South Lakeland House, Lowther Street, KENDAL, Cumbria, LA9 4UQ between 10am and 4pm on any working day from Wednesday, 24 March 2021 (excluding bank holidays) but not later than 4pm on Thursday, 8th April 2021.
3. Nomination papers may be obtained from the offices of the Returning Officer, South Lakeland House, Lowther Street, KENDAL, Cumbria LA9 4UQ during the times stated above. Or email copies can be requested at [email protected].
4. If any election is contested the poll, will take place on Thursday, 6th May 2021, between the hours of 7am and 10pm.
5. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Monday, 19th April 2021. Applications can be made online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
6. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the address shown below by 5pm on Tuesday, 20th April 2021.
7. Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the address shown below by 5pm on Tuesday, 27th April 2021.
8. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on the grounds of physical incapacity or for work/service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the address shown below by 5pm on Thursday, 6th May 2021. The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5pm on Tuesday, 27th April 2021. To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5pm on Tuesday, 27th April 2021.
