CIP bilten knjige u štampi/tisku God. 2, br. 10 (oktobar/listopad 2020.) ISSN 2637-2169 Glavni i odgovorni urednik: dr. They arrived in an organized manner to the eastern Adriatic coast and the re- gion bordered by the Drina, Drava and Danube rivers in the first half of the seventh century, during the time of major Avar-Byzan- tine Wars and general upheavals in Europe. In the territory where they settled, they organized During the reign of Prince themselves into three political entities, based on the previ Branimir, Pope John VIII, ous Roman administrative organizations: White (western) the universal authority at Croatia, commonly referred to as Dalmatian Croatia, and Red the time, granted (southern) Croatia, both of which were under Byzantine su Croatia international premacy, and Pannonian Croatia, which was under Avar su recognition. premacy. The Croats in Pannonian Croatia became Frankish vassals at the end of the eighth century, while those in Dalmatia came under Frankish rule at the beginning of the ninth century, and those in Red Croatia remained under Byzantine supremacy.

  • Tourist Guide Kupres
TOURIST GUIDE KUPRES Suport by the Swiss Foundation for Solidarity in Tourism – SST. 1 1. General information about Kupres Kupres is situated in the south-west of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on Kupres plateau. Surface of the town is 622 km² and it is situated at 1200 meters of altitude. Name Kupres is mentioned officially for the first time in deed of gift of Bosnian king Stjepan Tomašević on 18 September 1461. However, in older historical documents Kupres is mentioned under different names such as Tropolje, Vrhovine, Završje and Zapadne Strane. There are different theories about the origin of the name Kupres. Historians mostly accept interpretation of the name connected to old Illyrian words: kup and rrash(raš). The first word cup stands for deep bowl and the second rrash stands for plain. '' So, kup-raš means cone-shaped plain, i.e. closed basin, which perfectly describes landscape of Kupres that looks like a picture surrounded by 16 mountains. From the older form Kupraš in the course of time developed other names Kupris, Kupres, Kupreš''- in this way name is described by famous Kupres inhabitant fra Miroslav Džaja in his book: ''Sa Kupreške visoravni'' ('' From Kupres plateau''). After latest war Kupres became part of Herceg-Bosnian county, with Livno as administrative center. Kupres has extraordinary geographical position since it is crossing of numerous roads in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as of roads leading to neighbouring Republic Croatia and central European countries. Kupres is equally distant from Split, Banja Luka, Mostar and Sarajevo -120km. When you are arriving to Kupres from any direction basically you are 'climbing' and when you arrive to Kupres in front of you appears huge plain, surrounded by hills and mountain ranges.

Thesis – D. Jurić; McMaster University – Anthropology ABSTRACT This thesis presents a critical overview of a supernatural being, the South Slavic vila, as she figures in the oral traditions of Bosnian, Croatian, Montenegrin and Serbian peasants collected in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The thesis returns to the conceptual frame of older primary texts (here titled survey studies) used by comparative scholars and updates this work with the knowledge gleaned from a century of research and theory in the fields of folkloristics and historical anthropology. These materials are presented in a distributive frequency analysis model such as those often employed by the Historical-Geographic school of folklore research, but the study is built on a foundation informed by the insights of Milman Parry and Albert Lord’s researches into the diffusion of oral traditions. These traditions are further refined by focusing on the singers, storytellers and believers who used the vila in an emic manner balanced at a nexus point between artistic innovation and traditional dictates.

Its basic concept is the (world) domination, but the modeº of its implementation is very similar, if not the same, to the gamble-game practiced by the street cheats, called 'Three Card Monte ', only on a much larger scale. Namely, the Latinization is yet another bogus shift process, meant to swindle as much as possible of the world population, and to make them believe in something that never existed. This is done with purpose to confuse the people by erasing their common sense, make them easily manipulative, and turn them against each other in order to obtain profit and consequently a power to rule them. It is a long assimilation process, which makes the people (and their cultures) conform to the ruling class ideas and the thirst for profits of the western world, its monarchies, and the Latin (catholic) church. This ‘Three Card Monte ’ style shifting was implemented by mixing-up the historical chronology and bringing into disorder different historical realities, thus confusing the way of perception by introducing different politically-invented ethnic terms.
