Chalet Grande Corniche Is Unquestionably One of the Most Spectacular and Luxurious Chalets in Les Portes Du Soleil CHALET GRANDE CORNICHE IS UNQUESTIONABLY ONE OF THE MOST SPECTACULAR AND LUXURIOUS CHALETS IN LES PORTES DU SOLEIL. LA GRANDE CORNICHE LES GETS Guide Price €4,950,000 LES GETS, FRANCE Spectacular property in a very private position • Awarded best ski chalet in France 2017 • Heated outdoor swimming pool, spa and gym facilities • Cinema room and vaulted-ceiling snooker room • Acclimatised wine cellar • Integral double garage • Uninterrupted mountain views • 7 Bedrooms • 7 Bathrooms Situation Les Gets is a delightful French village in the heart of the Portes du Soleil region, 80km from Geneva airport. A traditional dairy farming community in years of old, Les Gets has become one of the most popular ski destinations in The Alps for families, due to its relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere, close proximity to the airport and being part of one of Europe’s largest linked ski areas. With 650km of slopes to enjoy across the Portes du Soleil, there is something to cater for all abilities; from the wide, groomed pistes in Les Gets and Mont Chery to the steeper more challenging slopes in Avoriaz and Chatel. Cross-border skiing is also on offer and the world famous “Swiss Wall” is a real challenge for expert skiers. In addition to the fantastic range of skiing available, the panoramic views are some of the most breath-taking in The Alps; the view of Mont Blanc from the top of the Chamossiere is simply stunning. The village is full of life with around 100 bars, shops and restaurants to frequent and an outdoor ice rink adds to the charm. Further to the popularity of the resort in the winter months, Les Gets offers an extensive list of summer activities including mountain biking, paraponting, mountaineering, golf, hiking and horse riding. Some of the lifts are open in the summer allowing access to the mountains throughout the year. The Portes du Soleil continues to improve and update its infrastructure. The second half of the plan to facilitate and speed up access between Morzine and Avoriaz begins in 2019 with the construction of a new lift between Morzine town centre and Prodains, at the foot of Avoriaz. This fantastic addition to the region will allow far quicker access to the highest pistes in the ski area and demonstrates the Portes du Soleil’s intention to evolve and stay alongside other prime resorts. Description Chalet Grande Corniche is unquestionably one of the most spectacular and luxurious chalets in Les Portes du Soleil. Impeccably designed and built to the highest of standards, the chalet effortlessly blends traditional Alpine living with contemporary design. La Grande Corniche recently won an award for the best ski chalet in France 2017 at the world ski awards. The chalet comprises 650m² of habitable space over four levels. The living and dining area on the first floor is almost entirely open- plan and centred around an open feature fireplace creating a welcoming and relaxing ambience. Glass doors onto a south-facing balcony allow light to flow through the room and provide stunning views of the valley. For a pre or post supper tipple, head upstairs to a delightful bar area which overlooks the living room. What better way to speed up your guests’ heart rate than to send them straight down the tunnel slide into a magnificent vaulted-ceiling snooker room in the lower level. Should the occasion arise, this room readily converts into a stunning dining room, with an impressive glass- fronted acclimatised wine cellar adjacent. The double-tiered master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, dressing area and study occupies its own raised area on the second floor and enjoys fabulous mountain views towards Mont Blanc. The five guest bedrooms are all en-suite offering complete comfort and privacy. Should additional sleeping accommodation be required, a bunk room can be found on the lower ground floor which can sleep up to three people. The interiors and furnishings have been finished to the highest standard by artisans and suppliers from around the world. The custom made French doors, the wooden staircases, cupboards, fittings and wine cellar were all hand made on site by renowned UK cabinet makers, Ramwell. The bathroom fittings are supplied by Porcelanosa in Spain, the lighting comes from Authentage in Belgium and other furnishings are from designers such as Tom Faulkner, Julien Chichester and Dax Sierra. Perhaps the most spectacular views from the chalet can be appreciated from the spa area. There can be few more effective ways to relax after a long day on the slopes than to enjoy the sauna, Jacuzzi and swimming pool with the sight of Mont Blanc in the distance. There is also a cosy ‘conversation pit’ with an ethanol fireplace. A home cinema room can be found in the basement, along with a fully equipped gym. An integral garage can be accessed from the ground floor of the chalet with space for two cars and ample room for sports equipment and storage. There is further parking for up to 6 cars to the front of the property. Please note: 49m2 Mazot available to purchase by separate negotiation. This is a truly unique opportunity to acquire one of Les Portes du Soleil’s finest chalets. • A Great Season, Everyone!
GUIDE FOR SEASONAL WORKERS WINTER/SUMMER 2010-2011 HAVE A GREAT Pays du Mont-Blanc - Arve Valley SEASON Hello and welcome! 652,000 tourist beds 2nd most popular department for tourism in France From Mont Blanc and the Aravis mountains to the shores of Lake Léman and Lake Annecy, Haute-Savoie offers an idyllic setting for numerous seasonal employees. These workers help ensure enjoyable holidays for tourists from all over the globe. With the current economic climate showing signs of improvement, tourism remains the number one job creation sector in Haute Savoie, showing expansion in the hospitality and ski lift industries. Tourism is an industry that can’t be relocated overseas, and thus represents a vital asset for the future. Since 2007, the public authorities (national government, Regional Councils, and General Councils), elected officials, labour and management groups, and all players involved in social issues (C.A.F., C.P.A.M., M.S.A., subsidized housing, occupational health services) have mobilized to promote seasonal employment as a priority for the department, notably including it in a goals charter. With this framework in mind, and to ensure that seasonal workers « have a good season », the regions of Pays du Mont Blanc and Chablais have mobilized to welcome these employees by means of the Chamonix « Espace Saisonnier » (centre for seasonal workers) and the Chablais « Point Accueil Saisonnier » (information desk for seasonal workers). On a larger scale, Haute-Savoie strives to inform seasonal workers more thoroughly by publishing this guide. Here, employees and employers will find answers to a variety of questions that may concern them, including training, employment, working conditions, health, and housing.

Center Parcs, in the Alps – The many things to do in Avoriaz Pierre Vacances, the owners of Center Parcs in England also have a major stake in the Avoriaz resort and are currently building an all season water parc in the resort. This development, built on the existing outdoor swimming pool will transform the resort as a real alternative to an English Center Parcs holiday at a fraction of the price due to the lower accommodation costs in the summer. Avoriaz is principally known as an Alpine Ski resort at the heart of the massive 650 km Portes Du Soleil ski area. From December till April each year Avoriaz operates as a ski in and ski out resort with only resort vehicles allowed into the resort. In July and August it also operates as a car free resort as well. In May/June/September – November, the resort is largely inhabited by a few locals, walkers and tradespersons. Aquariaz – opening July 2012 – an aquatic paradise in the mountains featuring lush vegetation and rocks, with a river with variable current, a slidewinder, a water playhouse, a paddling pool a large pool with climbing walls, massage benches and the must: an open-air Jacuzzi heated to 34 degrees C Aquariaz will no doubt transform the resort into a center parcs village in the Alps.
