New Racquets TennisIndustry New Racquets EQUIPMENT Frames for Fall Racquet companies are introducing new product for the US Open and fall season. By Nate Pagel he US Open often has been a time for racquet manufactur- ers to introduce new product, as their Tsponsored pros take to the court on the tennis world’s grandest stage. At press time in mid-July, a handful of companies had new frames they were able to divulge to us. Expect other companies to introduce new models as the Open plays out and we head into the fall and holiday seasons. DUNLOP CS 8.0 and CS 10.0 > dunloptennis.us New this fall from Dunlop are the CS 8.0 and CS 10.0. Both, says the company, offer “power and comfort to spare,” thanks to Dunlop’s Srixon engineering, which features Sonic Core technology. Dunlop’s CS 10.0 also features the Dual Bridge System and Dynamic Hole technologies, designed to increase dampening while also enhancing the sweetspot. The CS 8.0 features Synchro Charge and Straight String System tech- nologies to mitigate the stiff feel of off-center hits and increase string movement for greater power and spin, says Dunlop. Where sponsorship deals have not been reported, the Sponsorship Today team actively seeks data through web searches, annual financial reports and contacting sponsors, agencies and rights holders. Most sponsorship deals are not reported and, of those that are, the majority do not provide accurate fee or duration data. IMR estimates unreported fee values through comparisons with similar deals, contacts with industry insiders and through its long experience of creating sponsorship analysis reports. There is no guarantee of accuracy of estimates. The sponsorship industry is also known to overstate sponsorship fee values. Such reports are frequently based on the maximum potential value of a deal and might include the total should all incentive clauses (such as sporting success) be met and no morality clauses invoked.

Published: 13 February 2018 Abstract: Tennis rackets have advanced significantly since the invention of the game in 1874, including innovations in both shape and materials. Advances in these design parameters have implications for racket performance, especially swing speed. This study tested one hundred rackets, spanning brands and eras, using simple, portable instruments in order to pilot protocols and make recommendations for streamlining testing procedures for tennis rackets. A wide range of properties were measured and documented for each racket. We suggest that since Transverse and Lateral Moment of Inertia are well correlated, measuring both is not necessary when processing a large number of rackets. In addition, it is also possible to predict the Transverse Moment of Inertia well from models that use simple dimension and mass measurements, which may be preferable in larger studies.

These balls come from three of the top ball manufactures in the world: Titleist, Callaway and Bridgestone. We chose the low-spin ball from each company, and hit each 20-30 times using a 7- iron. We recorded the trajectory predictions using a range simulator called a FlightScope, which a ided b he U i e i f L chb g G lf g am. The purpose of this experiment was to create a computer model that compares the distance, time of flight and vertical descent of a golf ball that was predicted by the model and the simulator. 1 INTRODUCTION This study will look at the comparative trajectories between a flight simulator and a computer model of three high-performance golf balls. Information about these balls is ap- pealing because many people play golf and use these expensive golf balls, but probably have never seen any actual statistics on how different brands compare.

ZX WOODS PRODUCT MANUAL FOCUSED Hone in, stay centered, concentrate—the swing thoughts that bring success off the tee also provide clarity to driver design. And much like a fierce competitor absorbed by victory, our new ZX Woods obsess over one thing: speed. Equipped with Rebound Frame, they focus your energy at impact, concentrating power for awe-inspiring carry. So breathe deep, clear your head, and enjoy game-changing distance with all new ZX Drivers, Fairways, and Hybrids. 2 SRIXON ZX WOODS PRODUCT MANUAL FOCUSED FAIRWAY SRIXONEUROPE.COM / SRIXON.CO.UK 3 6 SRIXON ZX WOODS PRODUCT MANUAL REBOUND FRAME The laws of physics are clear: energy cannot be created or destroyed. So if you want to add power to your drives, you’ve only one option: focus your energy. Efficiency is the key. And Rebound Frame provides a more efficient transfer of energy from the driver to the golf ball. It’s not just a new face, it’s an entirely new way to engineer a golf club. And it’s only in the new ZX Woods. SRIXONEUROPE.COM / SRIXON.CO.UK 7 LAYERS OF SPEED Rebound Frame works by layering alternating zones of stiff RIGID ZONE and flexible material in a concentric pattern. It starts with an extremely flexible face built of exotic Ti51AF Titanium alloy. Surrounding that face is a stiffened perimeter, followed by an additional ring of thin, flexible material. Lastly, an internal rib structure adds rigidity to the rear of the club, providing a stable platform for the entire system. Each of these zones has a role to play in maximizing the amount of energy that’s transferred from the driver to the golf ball at impact.
