Due to this growth, on March 5, 2013, Edmonton City Council issued a motion to initiate a process of land annexation from Leduc County. The proposed City annexation areas consist of southwest and southeast lands, located within Leduc County.

He then joined the law firm of Taylor and Boyle and in 1909 was admitted to the bar. He was on the Board of Trade and was a member of the Library Board for two years.
