“SAAKAR” E MAGAZINE DECEMBER 2016 PRINCIPAL’S PERSPECTIVE Dear Readers We come to the end of another incredible, and incredibly busy school year . And what a year it has been! I am so proud to be able to serve the wonderful students who have worked diligently to bring laurels for their school in both scholastic and co-scholastic areas. I would like to extend my warm regards to everyone for turning this year into a splendid year. We indeed have ripen the fruits of hard works and have greatly cherished them throughout the year. With equally great zeal and fervour I look forward to an even more prosperous year which will surely bring a brimming smiles on everybody’s faces. Wishing you all a very happy and prosperous New Year. Dear Readers With immense pleasure we put forth the December issue of “Saakar” in your esteemed hands. This month brings with it a jillion of merriment and excitement as a new year is just round the corner. The edition has been conceptualized keeping in sync with the alacrity of this festive season, which is cherished by every age group. Most of the activities encompasses the theme of Christmas. It provides the necessary nutrients and vitamins that is required for a healthy growth and development of an individual. To inculcate this nutritive habit amongst their friends, the students conducted the assembly and illuminated them about the hazards of junk food. The assembly was concluded by melodious poems sung by the children. IMPORTANCE OF MILK Milk is a part and parcel of the diet of all young and old. It is essential for the proper growth of the human body. It contains proteins, carbohydrates, fats, minerals and vitamins in the ratio in which they are needed for the proper development of the body. To infuse the habit of daily consumption of dairy products, the students dressed up as various products and informed their friends with benefits of it. CLASS II E Good manners are the key to a successful life and it is necessary that the future of our nation should be well versed with a polite tone and commendable manners. To enlighten the immeasurable value of moral conduct, the students staged a role play on the importance of good behaviour and commenced the morning assembly. They also performed a peppy dance number , making their message loud and clear. CLASS II D Our Universe CLASS II F Christmas Christmas marks the birth of Jesus Christ and conveys his message of love, tolerance and brotherhood. It is a celebration of humanity and mankind. The fervor of Christmas was showcased by the students through a scintillating role play portraying the birth of Christ, spreading the message of peace and love amongst the crowd. Melodious Christmas carols were sung by the students. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem. CLASS I A The students took various resolutions in the assembly amidst their friends and teachers. With New Year just round the corner, it was just fitting that the students should start taking their New Year Resolutions and what a better way than taking it with the friends. ‘ Don’t let anything deter you from becoming what you want to become. ’ Laying stress on these words, a workshop on Career Counseling was held for the students of classes IX-XII in the school auditorium. Mr. Ranjit Majumdar, from Hindustan Times conducted the session. The workshop aimed to assist the students in choosing the right career for themselves. The career planning process was introduced to them, which comprises of three steps: self assessment, identification of career options and setting of goals. The students did a quick SWOT analysis, wherein they learned to count on their own strengths and weaknesses, the biggest one being Procrastination, which needs to be overcome. Mr. Majumdar, opened in front of them, acquainted the budding aspirants with diverse career opportunities they could pursue. They were instructed to set S.M.A.R.T goals, where S- specific, M-Measure the process, A- achievability, R-realistic, T- time bound. “Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts” Sports play an integral part in a student’s life. It provides the discipline and courage one needs to lead a successful life and hence K.R.Mangalam World School, Vaishali hosted its first Annual Athletic Meet “Kshitij Ki Aur” on December23 & 24, 2016, in the school premises in a flamboyant spirit. The field was filled with great zeal, enthusiasm and frolicsome atmosphere which was doubled with the fantastic turnout from the parents. The impressive School Band and the elegant march past by the school council commenced the event. The tone of this frolicsome event was set by an awe struck Ganesh Vandana .The students entered into the spirit of the occasion with Gymnastic performed by class II students. The event also witnessed the students’ strength as they gracefully performed Taekwondo which was followed by an energetic P.T Drill by the tiny tots. The budding sportsmen also testified their flexibility with an enthralling Aerobics and Yoga performance. The event was a witness to an exquisite Indo Western Fusion in the finale! The students were given a colouring page in computers to check their ability to colour and handling the new age device. All the children coloured the given page with their imagination and perfection. The entire classroom turned into a creative arena where everyone’s eyes were glued to the computer set and each one wanted to give their best. But it was to be done on the computer screen using MS Paint. They came out very brilliantly with their creativity and imagination. The used of bright and vibrant colours enhanced the beauty of their creations.
