Health and Well-being Community Hubs help local people and communities to improve and manage their health and wellbeing by giving them access to information, sign posting and support in one convenient place.

i-Rock Support for young people aged 14-25 years

A service for 14-25 year olds that offers friendly advice and support about emotional and mental wellbeing, employment, education and housing. i- Rock offers the chance to talk, in confidence, about any problems an individual may have, no matter how big or small.

No referral is necessary - the drop in centre is open every Monday to Friday from 11am-6pm, so individuals can just turn up, although appointments can also be made on-line.

Based at Rock House, 49-51 Cambridge Road, Hastings, TN34 1DT. Open Monday to Friday 11am to 6pm.

Open for Parents for parents and carers of 2-12 year olds and of teenagers

Being a parent or carer is not always easy. Open for parents is for parents and carers of 2-19 year olds. The parenting team can offer free support in a range of areas such as bedtime routines, tantrums, nightmares and night terrors and managing children with additional needs and Autism - any behaviour that can cause concern.

A variety of support is available including one-off sessions, groups, one-to- one support and online courses. They offer simple practical strategies as well as the chance of meeting with others parents experiencing similar concerns.

One You East Sussex A service for anyone over 18 years old (over 12 years old for Stop Smoking support)

One You East Sussex is the free integrated lifestyle service in East Sussex, providing support, advice and programmes on helping people Lose Weight, Stop Smoking, Eat Healthier, Move More and Drink Less.

The service also provides training on things such as MECC (Make Every Contact Count), Mental Health First Aid and Stop Smoking advisor training.

Welfare Benefits Helpline A service for those of working age

A service to help manage the impact of welfare reforms and understand welfare benefits. Includes provision of the following:

 A welfare benefits helpline and e-mail advice service for residents and professionals  A face to face expert benefit advice service  An outreach expert benefits service that can offer a benefits and money advice service in community and/or rural settings, including GP practices  A support, information and advice service targeted at the most vulnerable people of working age  A welfare benefits service for older people who also need housing support to maintain their independence  A training service for professionals across health, social care and the voluntary sector

Help to keep warm and well Find information about how to keep warm and well at home in East Sussex at www.warmeastsussex.org.uk

East Sussex Warm Home Check service The Warm Home Check service is available all year round. It offers advice and support to anyone who struggles to keep warm at home. If you are on a low income you may also qualify for a free home visit which includes:  advice on getting help to pay for heating  an assessment of your home to identify how to keep warm  mall works such as improving insulation or repairing boilers  emergency temporary heating.

Installation of replacement boilers, central heating systems or home insulation is also possible subject to eligibility and limited availability. Community Connectors For those aged 16 and over who are experiencing issued affecting their mental health and wellbeing

Community Connectors provide ‘social prescribing’ to help individuals find practical solutions to life challenges. The service supports people to be able to access services and activities in the local community that can help improve mental and emotional wellbeing. It can be an addition or alternative to medication and psychological therapies.

The service takes referrals from GPs and provides drop in facilities and one to one appointments, specialist clinics and multi-agency case conferencing, to ensure hard to engage patients can access the support identified in their initial assessment.

The service is available to anyone aged 16 and over who is experiencing issues affecting their mental health and wellbeing.

Healthy Living Pharmacies For people of all ages

Healthy Living Pharmacies offer increased access to health improvement services, self-care advice and support for people with long-term conditions, including sign posting to local NHS and community services. Each pharmacy has a specially trained ‘health champion’ who can offer help on issues such as how to stop smoking and healthy lifestyle advice. Pharmacies are also able to offer sexual health services for young people, substance misuse services and NHS Health Checks.

Active Hastings for people of all ages

Active Hastings works closely with local providers of physical activity to give easy, fun ways to get an everyday dose of physical activity. It only takes 30 minutes a day for adults and 60 a day for children to get fitter, healthier and happier. You can even break it down into 10 minute slots!

There are activities for all ages and abilities from walks in the park to acrobatics and netball to tai chi.

Active Rother for people of all ages

Active Rother is a partnership made up of local government organisations, the NHS, activity providers and community groups. The partnership is co- ordinated by Council.

Through this partnership, Active Rother aim to facilitate and encourage the development of a wide range of low cost, quality assured activities that will contribute to increased levels of physical activity within the Rother area.

East Sussex Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service (STAR) for those over 18 years old

A free dedicated drug and alcohol community recovery service that delivers services to people from the age of 18 across East Sussex, working with the local community and partnership agencies to achieve best outcomes for service users.

Offers a range of services working in partnership with a number of agencies to achieve positive outcomes for our service users, including:  Specialist prescribing services  GP shared care  Community detox from drugs and alcohol  Inpatient detox from drugs and alcohol  Group work programmes  Housing and benefits advice  Drug and alcohol counselling  Intuitive recovery  SCDA employment support  Foundations of recovery  Carers support group

Sussex Mental Healthline A helpline for adults

Mental illness and distress can occur at any time, and through the healthline, Sussex Mental Health are there to support people when needed. They can provide advice, help and support outside the usual office hours.

Available Monday to Friday 5pm to 9am, and 24 hours at weekends and Bank Holidays in East Sussex, and .

The Sussex Mental Healthline is a telephone service offering support and information to anyone experiencing mental health problems including stress, anxiety and depression. The service is also available to carers and healthcare professionals.
