Staff, pupils and parents are proud of our school and work in close partnership to maintain the high standards of education we are all known for. We ensure that the education we deliver is fully inclusive and prepare our youngsters for lifelong learning by providing them with the skill set required to succeed academically, socially and emotionally; enabling them to develop into Successful Learners, Confident Individuals, Effective Contributors and Responsible Citizens. Our school fosters an ethos that is open, friendly and caring and we encourage staff, pupils and parents to work in partnership in order to maintain and develop this. Through our supportive Parent Council and Parent Teacher Association (PTA), and working with an enthusiastic staff, we maintain many fulfilling relationships within the community of Dreghorn. If you require further information, an appointment to visit the school, or a personal talk, I will be only too happy to help. They are at the heart of our curriculum, extra-curricular activities and the way we interact with each other. Vision At Dreghorn Primary we ensure the children are working within a safe, secure and caring environment. We aim to provide all pupils with the highest quality learning experiences where they feel happy, motivated and confident to enable them to realise their full potential. This will lead to excellence and quality in their education. Values Our values are at the core of all that we do. Celebrating Achievements These values and aims are promoted and celebrated at our weekly assemblies through the presentation of certificates. Come along for one or two walks or join us for them all. Walks are expected to last approximately 1 -1.5 hours. It is advised that you wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. All walks take place on Wednesdays and start at 11 am at the Trinity – Active Travel Hub in Bridegate, Irvine, unless stated as a different start point. Strathclyde Passenger Transport The Convener welcomed to the meeting Councillor Charles Gordon, Chair of Strathclyde Passenger Transport Authority along with George Grey, The Authority’s Head of Planning and Development who made a presentation to the Council on the operation of Strathclyde Passenger Transport and in particular its links with North Ayrshire. The presentation gave details of the history of S.P.T. which celebrates its 25th Anniversary this year, along with details of its budget and how the budget is spent. The principal focus of the presentation concerned the Glasgow Airport Cross City Link where details of various options were provided.
