Councillor Wilkinson paid tribute to the high standard of the concert and on behalf of the Hansel Foundation he thanked the Council for their participation. The Council thanked Councillor Wilkinson for his comments. 3. McIntosh Commission: Reports of Commissions of Inquiry The Chief Executive reported on the successful outcome of the Seminar held on 26 June 2000 at which the four Commissions of Inquiry which had been set up following the report of the McIntosh Committee, reported on their findings The Chief Executive will report in August to a further Seminar of Members of the Council on the findings of the report of the Reviewing Local Democracy Working Group (the Kerley Report). Noted. 4. Abstract of Accounts 1999/2000 In terms of statute, Councils are required to submit their final accounts to the Controller of Audit by 30 June 2000 for audit. Thereafter Councils will make their accounts available for public inspection. Once audited, the accounts will be submitted to the Council for consideration and this is likely to be in the autumn. The Assistant Chief Executive (Finance) reported that copies of the Council’s unaudited accounts would be available for Members on request from week commencing 3 July 2000. The Council agreed to submit the Draft Financial Accounts for 1999/2000 to the Controller of Audit. The meeting ended at 5.15 p.m. Page 5.
