AraBische Quellen erwähnen es 1112 als Bestandteil der Grafschaft Tripolis. Die erste Wehranlage auf dem BurgBerg ist sicher in dieser Zeit als Bestandteil des Befestigungssystems der Grafschaft entstanden. Sie tritt wieder in Erscheinung, als sie 1166/67 durch Nureddin Zengi eroBert und zerstört wurde. 1170 wurde sie durch ein ErdBeBen weiter Beschädigt. Wahrscheinlich hat König Amalrich I. von Jerusalem die Burg an den Templerorden zur NeuBefestigung üBergeBen.

But by the end of that century, Lombards coming from Northern Italy had conquered most of the peninsula, with Byzantium retaining only Calabria and Sicily. From the middle of the 9th century, the Aghlabid Dynasty of Ifrîquya (the original name of Eastern Maghreb) raided Sicily to take possession of the island. A new Byzantine offensive at the end of the century took back most of the lost territories in Apulia and Calabria and established Bari as the new provincial capital. Lombard territories further north were broken down between three cities led by princes: Capua, Salerno, and Benevento. Further east, Italian duchies of Naples, Amalfi, and Gaeta tried to keep their autonomy through successive alliances with the various regional powers to try and maintain their commercial interests. Ethnic struggles in Sicily between Arabs and Berbers on the one side, and various dynasties on the other side, led to power fragmentation: The island is divided between four rival military factions at the beginning of the 11th century. Beyond its natural boundaries, Southern Italy had to cope with two external powers which were looking to expel Byzantium from what they considered was part of their area of influence: the Papacy and the Holy Roman Empire.

    HERBERT LUDAT Piastowie i Ekkehardynowie* Aby głębiej wejrzeć w polityczne stosunki między Łabą, Soławą i Odrą w X w. zwrócić trzeba najpierw uwagę na powiązania genealogiczne między Piastami a Ekkehardynami. Wypada tedy przypomnieć epokowe znaczenie, jakie polska i niemiecka historiografia przypisują wydarzeniom lat 1002-1003 dla ukształtowania stosunków politycznych w Eu­ ropie Środkowej, a także między Polską a Niemcami1. Uwieńczony sukcesem najazd Bolesława Chrobrego na południowy obszar marchii połabskich wczesnym latem 1002 r., który zmusił Henryka II na zjeździe w Merseburgu do nadania w lenno księciu piastow­ skiemu obu Łużyc, a więc z Łużycami Dolnymi i Milskiem, a bratu zamordowanego Ek- keharda — marchii miśnieńskiej, oraz następnie zagarnięcie przez Bolesława władzy w Czechach stanowiły, j ak wiadomo, wstęp do woj en między królem niemieckim a władcą polskim2. Religious orientation during the reign of Mu’iz al-Dawlah was participating by Shi’ah Zaidiyyah. Another case with the reign of the ‘Izz al-Dawlah and ad}ud al-Dawlah participating Shi’ah Imamiyyah. While the relationship between the Buwayhid with ‘Abbasiyah dynasty is there are linkages between the two. Policy during the reign of the Seljuk dynasty is expanding its territory from Kasygar up to Yerussalem and from Constantinopel up to Kaspia ocean. Besides its religious orientation under the Seljuk dynasty is the Sunni Islam. While the relationship between the Buwayhid with Abbasiyah dynasty it is because of the factor similarity participating and relation marriage, so they have an emotional closeness and influence of Abbasid empire. The focus will be centered on how it is used in different ways in the different kingdoms (Castile, Aragon, Catalonia, Valencia, Portugal and the Basque Provinces and Navarre) and what the authors are trying to achieve through this. Results show that while Castilian authors try to prove Spanish antiquity with the Tubal settlement, in other kingdom, especially in Catalonia, Portugal and Navarre there is a more regional use of the myth. Most of these authors try to prove that their own kingdom is the territory where Tubal settled, which would give a pre-eminence of antiquity to it in comparison to the other Iberian territories. Burns' name is not affixed to this world-famous song, and yet there can be no doubt it is chiefly his own. He admitted to Johnson that the two verses beginning respectively, "We tae hae ran about the braes," and "We twa hae paidl'd in the burn," are his own, although in sending the song to Mrs. Dunlop in December, 1788, and also is writing about it to Thomson, in September, 1793, he speaks of it as ancient. "Light be the turf," he says, "on the breast of the heaven-inspired poet who composed this glorious fragment! There is more of the fire of native genius in it than half-a-dozen of modern English Bacchanalians." "Apropos, is not the Scotch phrase Auld Lang Syne exceedingly expressive? This old song and tune has often thrilled through my soul." To Thomson he writes thus:- "The air is but mediocre; but the song of itself - the song of the olden times, and which has never been in print, nor even in manuscript, until I took it down from an old man's singing - is enough to recommend any air." This is certainly the most famous song to come from the pen of Robert Burns, the inspiration coming from an old Scots ballad.
