It comprises over 2800 lots with a good offering of stamps and covers. The final part of this year has been particularly busy with this sale preparation and the publication of the 2010 Auckland City Stamps Colour Catalogue – which is on sale now. Please contact the office or visit our web site to purchase your copy. The four stamps on our front cover are all rare Great Britain £1 values. Lot 839, 1884 £1 Brown-Lilac (Est $1750); Lot 846 1902/10 KEVII £1 Green (Est $500); Lot 865 £1 Green Seahorse (Est $1100) and Lot 879 1929 £1 PUC (Est $1000). Highlights in the World Stamp Section include Lot 262 China 1897, 10c/12ca Overprint (Est $600); Lots 471 & 472, Fiji War Stamp Inverted Overprints (Est $900 & $1400); Lots 501 and 502 Fiji Revenues (Est $500 each). Great Britain has a nice range of Queen Victoria including1d Blacks. Also of note is Lot 814 a Plated Set of 15 Mint of the 1870 1/2d QV (Est $2500) and Lot 899, an illustrated Silver Wedding FDC (Est $500). In the World Postal History section, see Lot 1745 Gilbert & Ellice Islands 1937 Hand-drawn Solar Eclipse Cover (Est $500), also Lot 1781, Pitcairn Island NZ Postal Agency Early Registered No. 1 cover (Est $750). Of particular note in the New Zealand stamps section are lots 2044/2053 - a range of 1935 Pictorial Essays & Proposed Designs. In 1960 Pictorials there is a good listing of varieties, in particular Lot 2123 1/9 Plane with a striking Paper Fold (Est $750) and Lot 2126 a 1/9 Plane Red Colour Shift (Est $500). Lot 2291 in the Antarctica section features a First Day Cover of the 1/2d & 1d Victoria Land (Est $3000); in Cinderellas there is a range of WW1 Patriotic Labels - see Lot 2314 Mt Eden 1d Soldiers Memorial label (Est $1000). Of note in the Life Insurance Section is Lot 2441 - 1891 2d Plate Imperf Proof Block of 4 (Est $1500). We have another lovely selection of New Zealand Pre-Stamp Entires/Covers. See Lot 2739 a Nelson 1844 Straight Line cancel (Est $7500); also Lot 2735 a correspondence of 14 Entires/Covers written by Captain W Field Porter (Est $10,000). In the Military Section there is a nice lot of WW2 items – Lot 2649 MPO KW13 cancel which we have not seen before (Est $500). In the Postage Dues section of note is Lot 2704 a 1931 Cover showing the non use of Postage Due stamps (Est $600).
