2017-18 2017-18 World Environment Day celebration organised by the Department of Malayalam on 5th June 2017 inaugurated by famous environment activist Dr. G. D. Martin.

The Department of Malayalam, Bharata Mata College in association with the All India Radio, , organised reading week celebration in the name of ‘Aksharapacha’ from 19-27 june, 2018 in the Cardinal Pareccattill Auditorium. A book fair, variety of lectures and classical art forms were exhibited in this workshop. Famous novelist Mr.Benyamin (author of the famous novel ‘Aadujeevitham’) inaugrating the workshop. AIR, Kochi, Director, Mr.K.K.Prabhakaran, Principal, Dr.Aype Thomas, College Manager, Fr.Jacob G Palackapilly alongside him. As part of Aksharapachcha - 2017, the Kerala classical art form : chakkiarkooth was performed by Kalamandalam Jishnu. The activities of Aksharapachcha -2017 concluded on 27th June 2017. Dr.Nedumudy Harikumar inaugurated the valedictory function of Aksharapacha 2017.

The Media Club activities of Malayalam Department was inaugurated by film director Mr. Leo Thadevus on 14th August 2017.

‘Gulmohar’, the newspaper published by the Department of Malayalam in the year 2017 being presented by famous film director Mr.Leo Thadevus on 30th August 2017.

Five Day Literary Seminar conducted from 9th to 14th November 2017 by the Department of Malayalam. The Valedictory function was inaugurated by famous scriptwriter Kalavoor Ravikumar.

Theatre workshop conducted for the drama club members on 7th December 2017 and the class was taken by Mr. Beeyar Prasad.

Five day literary seminar conducted from 9th to 14th November 2017 by Department of Malayalam was inaugurated by Dr.Valsalan Vathussery , Head of the Department, Department of Malayalam, Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady.

Two day Journalism Seminar along with AIR, Kochi was inaugurated by famous journalist Dr. Paul Manalil on 27th February 2018. The valedictory function of the two day Media Seminar was inaugurated on 28th February 2018 by famous Scriptwriter P.F Mathews .
