Having ramped up the systems and processes in the wake of being granted autonomy, the college made much progress in the teaching-learning area as well as in research. The quality of the newly introduced graduate programmes was enhanced by introducing an array of value added courses aimed to help students choose their professional paths. Along with this, state -of –the- art infrastructure and learning management systems were introduced to support a dynamic learning environment. This has resulted in the implementation of quality control processes that have significantly raised the bar of academic and co-curricular excellence. This year is significant for two reasons. The first is that we have gained a good rating in the NIRF ranking of programmes with the MBA being ranked 36th in the order. Secondly we have achieved an international accreditation for both programmes under School of Management-MBA&MHRM. This has placed us on the global map of educational institutions, and, in future it will be our endeavor to gain global recognition through the quality of the education we impart here. Rajagiri College of Social Sciences is committed to creating an educational system where each student can develop to his full potential while nurturing the values of social commitment and integrity. The management, faculty, staff and students have worked collectively towards these common goals. As we follow in the footsteps of our patron saint St. Chavara, may the Lord bless us all in our endeavors and take the institution to greater heights. 1 RCSS Annual Report 2016-17 Message from the Principal 2016-17 has seen Rajagiri College of Social Sciences taking great strides forward in academic as well as co-curricular activities. With the advent of the new graduate programmes in 2015, we have spent a great deal of time and effort this year to raise the quality bar and give students a future orientation, in terms of a career as well as for post graduate professional programmes. The value addition has taken root and the results so far have been very promising. Our post graduate programmes continue to gain ground especially in our target development areas. This year we have increased our efforts with international partnerships and the culmination of this effort was seen in the large number of international Universities who sent their representatives to take part in Dyuthi, the international Seminar hosted by the Social Work Department this year. Our faculty and staff are committed to creating an environment conducive to learning at multiple levels. Students are exposed to a wide array of teaching methods, technological as well as experiential. Along with their academic and professional development, a strong sense of social responsibility is inculcated in each student in line with the vision and mission of the college. Our way forward is through a process of continuous improvement. With each passing year we set new benchmarks for ourselves and continue relentlessly towards excellence. May God bless us all as we carry forward this torch of learning and illuminate the minds of thousands of students who place their trust in us as they join our academic programmes. On behalf of the management and faculty of Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, I am honored to present the Annual report for the Academic Year 2016-17. 2 RCSS Annual Report 2016-17 INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE CELL (IQAC) Report for the period 2016 -2017 Profile of the IQAC of the College Date of Establishment of IQAC : 15-09-2003 IQAC Chair : Dr. Binoy Joseph (Principal)- 9446919144 IQAC Co-ordinator : Dr. Mary Venus Joseph-9447134579 Composition of the IQAC for the period 2016-18 CATEGORY Head of the Dr. Binoy Joseph Principal Chairperson Institution Management Fr.
