REFLECTIONS 4 Team Meshuggah with the help of CEFEE and RCSS could successfully organise “Koottu”- a talent show by the Specially Abled. The event stands apart because it's the first time an Inter Collegiate Fest got to feature 82 lovely kids from 10 Institutions and assure them a charity worth Rs.1 lakh. Meshuggah 2K18 saw over 400 visitors from 20 colleges in and around Ernakulam,participating in 8 different events and winning over Rs.60,000 total in cash prize. It also stands apart from others as it's the first time a college joined hands towards an initiative by another college.

REFLECTIONS 6 NSS Volunteers commemorated World Aids day on 1st December 2016 by donating blood at various hospitals. NSS conducted a grand ceremony of 'Fruit tree sapling distribution' in collaboration with Apollo Tyres, Kalamassery on 10th January 2018. The programme was inaugurated by College Manager Rev.Fr.Felix Chackalakkal and presided over by College Principal Dr.V.J.Peter. The occasion was graced with the presence of Deputy Chairman of Apollo Tyres, Kalamassery. NSS Volunteers distributed tree saplings among college students and locals in the neighbourhood of the college. NSS Volunteers organised a fund collection programme in college on 2nd March 2018 to financially assist the medical expenses of a student of the college. Volunteers initiated a tapioca farming at college campus as an extensive activity of Jaivam Programme and followed bio farming practises intensively.

NSS NSS Volunteers continue to enrich the horticulture garden by adding new saplings and proudly maintain the evergreen fruit tree garden. NSS conducted a farewell programme for NSS Seniors and the two existing NSS programme officers Prof. Siby and Prof. Maria who finished their term of service and conducted a welcome programme for the new NSS Programme Officers Prof.Christy and Prof.Nisha. Apart from all these, NSS volunteers conducted various regular cleaning sessions in the campus to make it a green and plastic free zone.

In Loving Memory of a Beloved Mother Elisha

As a token of solidarity with those suffering due to flood, the Chakkalakal family embraced the sorrow of losing their beloved mother Elisha (98) in a very different way. The family donated a sum of 2 lakhs to those affected by flood by restricting the 30th day of demise rituals to a minimum at Pizhala St. Francis Xavier Church. The sum was handed over by her son Fr. Felix Chakkalakal to the affected in the presence of Fr.Robinson.

Department of The department of Malayalam organized a caption writing contest on September 14th in the college portico. Faculty Ms. Soumya Mohanan and Ms. Ajna M. A. exhibited the photograph and gave the guidelines to the students. Students showed good response and the first prize was secured by Karun T.T. (III B.A. Eco.) and second prize by Rahul (III B.Com.)

REFLECTIONS 14 The NCC unit of St.Paul's college began its next half of academic year with synergic regular parades. Being a uniformed defence service of union of India various community service as well as defence training programs where organized. Cadets were given training in drill and weapons. NCC officer Lieutenant Varun V Varghese participated in IGC firing camp conducted by Kerala and Lakshdweep Directorate at NCC Irattayar,Idukki Half Yearly Report Republic Day was celebrated in the college and NCC unit actively participated in the function with the ceremonial parade College Manager Rev. Fr. Felix Chakkalakal hoisted the National flag in the presence of College Principal Dr. V.J Peter and motivated students with his inspirational speech and read the pledge. Patriotic song competition was also organised. 35 regular parades

15 Nature Club

On the 16th of February, the club organised a seminar in collaboration with Plan@Earth and Apollo Tyres on Plastics and distributed 500 cloth bags among students.

A seminar was organised on March 3rd , World Wildlife Day. A talk by the renowned wildlife photographer Shaji Mathilakam and screening of the documentary Anathara was done.

On March 22nd , World Water Day, a seminar, a poster exhibition and a mime were organised on the topic 'Water', which emphasised the importance of conserving fresh water resources. A poster exhibition was organised on March 21st , World Forestry Day by the members of the Nature Club.

Placement / Career Guidance Cell Sutherland Company, headquartered in Rochester conducted a placement drive at the college. Regional Director of IGNOU, Dr. Sindhu G Nair visited the campus and gave awareness about the IGNOU online courses. On 24/02/2018, in association with the ICMS International a mega Job fair was arranged at the campus. This initiative was free of cost for the candidates as well as for their employers. It was inaugurated by Mother Claudia Berto, Secretary, Daughters of Crowned Virgins, Italy who was visiting the campus for a week. College Manager Rev. Fr. Felix Chackalackal presided the meeting and Director of ICMS felicitated. It was open to the public and about 30 companies participated and as per the information given by the team 330 got job offer out of which 165 are students from our college. On 8th March 2018, as a part of celebrating the Women's Day, the placement coordinator Dr. Manju K. Menon received a token of recognition from ICMS International for excellence as the placement Nodal Officer.
