The 'M-Tech Textiles Design Show 2019' feature works by the final year Master of Technology in Textiles students of the Department of Textile Design and Technology, Takoradi Technical University, Takoradi. The exhibits for the show are created by the students as part of their Studio Practice course which is designed to develop the creative potential and skills of the students in providing solutions to design problems. The course aims at encouraging students to explore and experiment with different and varied media in the production of artefacts and reinforce

the practice of skills necessary to embark on projects from conception to completion. This first design show themed 'Vestiges' encouraged students to utilise waste products and low-cost textile materials to fashion-out marketable products with low technology and energy efficient processes. The students went through sustained studio experimentations making them uniquely positioned to conjure up solutions to textile design problems. With over 100 projects from 9 students on display, the M- Tech Textile Design Show is promising to be a celebration of all the creativity the students have to offer.
