Michala Božoňová Michala Božo ňová, 7.ro čník I.stupn ě Výtvarný obor Učitelka Jana Holcová Co mi dala výtvarka? ANDREW WARHOLA 6. srpna 1928, Pittsburgh– 22. Knihy:Gold Book,Wild Raspberries,Holy Cats,The Philosophy of Andy Warhol from A to B and back again,The Andy Warhol Diaries Film ů m ěl také spoustu.Nap říklad Batman Dracula (1964),Vinyl (1965),Blue Movie (1969),Chelsea Girls (1966)… .

  • The Economist Print Edition
The Pop master's highs and lows Nov 26th 2009 From The Economist print edition Andy Warhol is the bellwether The Andy Warhol Foundation $100m-worth of Elvises “EIGHT ELVISES” is a 12-foot painting that has all the virtues of a great Andy Warhol: fame, repetition and the threat of death. The canvas is also awash with the artist’s favourite colour, silver, and dates from a vintage Warhol year, 1963. It did not leave the home of Annibale Berlingieri, a Roman collector, for 40 years, but in autumn 2008 it sold for over $100m in a deal brokered by Philippe Ségalot, the French art consultant. That sale was a world record for Warhol and a benchmark that only four other artists—Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Willem De Kooning and Gustav Klimt— have ever achieved. Warhol’s oeuvre is huge. It consists of about 10,000 artworks made between 1961, when the artist gave up graphic design, and 1987, when he died suddenly at the age of 58. Most of these are silk-screen paintings portraying anything from Campbell’s soup cans to Jackie Kennedy and Mao Zedong, drag queens and commissioning collectors. Warhol also created “disaster paintings” from newspaper clippings, as well as abstract works such as shadows and oxidations. The paintings come in series of various sizes. There are only 20 “Most Wanted Men” canvases, for example, but about 650 “Flower” paintings. Warhol also made sculpture and many experimental films, which contribute greatly to his legacy as an innovator. The Warhol market is considered the bellwether of post-war and contemporary art for many reasons, including its size and range, its emblematic transactions and the artist’s reputation as a trendsetter.

The work explores the life of Ellis, Lotte, Diana John-John and Lauren as they wander through a variety of circumstances, which center on loss and grief. As the novel develops, the author loses control over her intentionality; the character’s she claims to know fuse together, leaving the reader to wonder if Lauren is synonymous with Ellis or if Diana is actually Lotte disguised by a signifier. Red, Yellow, Blue questions the author’s as well as the reader’s ability to understand the transformation that occurs in an individual during long periods of grief and anxiety.

These were destined to be used in the first project in his new studio, dubbed the Factory, which would be presented in his first ever sculpture show. In the early months of 1964, Warhol and his helpers would screen print the labels of famous consumer products on each box, creating facsimiles of the originals: Campbell's tomato juice, Del Monte peach halves, Heinz ketchup, Kellogg's cornflakes, Mott's apple juice, and, of course, Brillo pads. The Brillo boxes (there was both a yellow version and the iconic white) were the most memorable, and, with the earlier Campbell's soup lithos, count among of the most famous images in Warhol's oeuvres. Stacked in piles at New York's Stable Gallery, these boxes would help catapult Warhol into superstardom, and Brillo would become emblematic of that ascent. http://www.artbouillon.com/2013/02/that-brilliant-brillo-box-pops-debt-to.html "New Realists Exhibition," Sidney Janis Gallery, 1962 Andy Warhol, Do it yourself (by-the- numbers), 1962 Jasper Johns, Three Flags, 1958 La luce del Pensiero di Mao Zedong illumina la strada della Grande Rivoluzione Culturale Proletaria, 1966, stampa, 53.5 x 74 cm, collezione Ziyunxuan, pubblicità Campbell ani sessanta Andy Warhol, Cambell soup cans, 1962 Andy Warhol Orange Car Crash Fourteen Times 1963 Green Car Crash.

Reviewed by Kathryn Franklin, York University Two exhibitions have opened in 2013 that centre on a specific artistic style of the early 1970s known as glam. Glam! The Performance of Style calls itself the first exhibition to explore glam style and sensibility in depth. The exhibit deals primarily with musicians such as David Bowie, Marc Bolan of T-Rex, and Roxy Music, and artists such as Andy Warhol, Cindy Sherman and David Hockney, along with their roles in shaping and developing the glam aesthetic. Meanwhile, London’s Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) has been granted access to David Bowie’s archive to curate what is argu- ably the most widely discussed exhibit of the year. David Bowie Is focuses on the recording artist’s long and influential career – Bowie himself having just released his twenty-fourth studio album, The Next Day, earlier in the year. Glam rock, however, has never historically counted as a significant phenomenon in discourses on rock music culture. Philip Auslander (2006) suggests that this historical neglect of glam rock is symptomatic of the failure of most major British glam artists to penetrate the American market – with the exception of the ubiquitous David Bowie.
