I am writing in reply to your letter of9 November 2009, inviting the Secretary-General to participate in the World Affairs Council of Oregon's International Speaker Series, sometime during 2010 in Oregon.

I wish to inform you that the Secretary-General would be glad to honour your invitation. However, it is still too early for us to make a firm commitment. The invitation will be kept in mind as his programme for 201 0 develops. During the course ofthe year, my Office will revert to you to confirm his participation and discuss relevant arrangements, as appropriate.
