Marks : 80 Time Allowed : 3 Hours Internal Assessment : 20 Instructions for the Paper-Setter The question paper will consist of five sections : A, B, C, D and E. Section A, B,C and D will have two questions from the respective sections of the syllabus and will carry 15 marks each. Section E will consist of 10 short answer type questions which will cover the entire syllabus uniformly and will carry 20 marks in all. Instructions for the Candidates Candidates are required to attempt five questions in all, selecting at least one question from each section. Section E is compulsory. Section-A 1. Study of Kuchipuddi dance. 2. Study of Raigarh Parampara. 3. Study of Nritya Natika and Ballets Contributions of Pt. Udey Shankar and Birju Maharaj towards Indian Ballets. Section-B 4. Origin of Taal and its ten prans and Uttri and Dakshani Taal Paditi. 5. Dance and its relation with other fine arts. 6. Historical Background of folk dances of Punjab with special reference to instruments used. Section-C 7. Writing the notations of the following Sool taal (Matra 10) Notation of all the following material : (a) Simple Tatkar with Dugan and Chougan layakaries (b) Tora - 2 (c) Amad - 1 (d) Salami-1 (e) Paran-2 (f) Chakaradar Paran-1 (g) Kavit-I 8. Writing the notations of the following Swari taal (Matra 15) (a) Simple Tatkar with Dugan and Chogun layakaries (b) Tora-2 (c) Amad-1 (d) Chakardar Paran-1 (e) Paran-1 (f) Kavit-1 9. Description and comparative study of Taals mentioned in section-C above. Section-D 10. Notation of talas in Dugun, Tigun and Chougan layakaries mentioned in section C above. 11. (c) Tilwara Taal:- Thheka. 2. Comarative study of above mentioned Taals. Section - D 1. Notation of Taals mentioned in section c with their Dugun, Tigun, Chaugun and Arh Layakaries. 2. Recognition of Taals through some bols asked by paper setter. 3. Compose Rela, Qaida, Peshkar and Paran based on the bols set by the paper setter Section - E Section E will consist of 8 short answer type questions which will cover the entire syllabus uniformly and will carry 16 marks.
