In a future programme I will tell you of another famous I did tell our manager, Matt Bradley, that after our bad result at Blofield manager who could have signed Thatch. the good thing about football is that you have the next Saturday to help the team play better. This did happen as our team played well to In the last programme I wrote of my visit to the boxing gym, people beat North Walsham 2-0 in a very good game. I did forecast in my liked the photo & with a boxing show in Norwich in late November I President’s page that we would win and yes Brownie, our boat is now have to give local boxing an advert as I have been invited as a special sailing faster down the River Tiffey. Once again I sold all of the guest. What is good is that all these boxing champions started at my programmes & the club house was busy. I think it’s good that local club; Norwich Lads Club. people can enjoy an afternoon at the Kings Head Meadow. After getting all the local football I had to watch Strictly Come Dancing las week when boxer Anthony Ogogo was knocked out, if I had to pick a winner it could be Peter Andre and his partner. Our visitors today are Bungay who set a fine advert for local football, they deserve credit for their support & all their hard work to help people enjoy local football. My long-time friend Terry Reeve over many years has worked so hard for the football club and the people of Bungay. When Terry worked for the local press as a reporter he was good to me with his reports on the films at my Regal Cinema. Non-League Day, Saturday 10th October, was well supported by the local press & Radio Norfolk. Many games were reported, with Bungay beating Hempnall 13-0, but the best headline was in the EDP on Monday; Wymondham Girls pull off a Former World Champion Herbie Hide, British Champion Ryan Walsh, huge upset in the FA Cup. The one with the hat, British Champion Liam Walsh & future boxing I was sorry to read of the passing of Howard Kendall, many years ago Champion Henry Hide several professional football teams would stay at the Barnham Broom Golf & Country Club. One Saturday morning Everton were staying Some Fridays I visit the Robert Kett, in the summer it reminds me of there & my mate Dave Watson introduced me to Howard Kendall, their my holidays in Tenerife, many people sitting outside enjoying a drink & manager. A little later on Thatch & myself sat in the sauna & Howard good food watching the world go by & many lads in local football drink came in & joined us. Thatch introduced himself & told Howard that I there so it’s a good place to sell programmes for Wymondham Town’s was the manager of Wymondham Sunday. Howard replied ‘sorry, game the next day. never heard of them, but have you any good players?’ I replied that he Best wishes could have Thatch but I was keeping the better ones. Howard looked at Thatch, smiled & said that if Everton got short of players he would Les King send a scout to Wymondham Rec. Howard Kendall was a great player 4. 5. Mark Brown Director of Football I would like to thank Andy Speller for temporarily taking charge of Wymondham Town FC the Reserves and it has turned out to be a short managerial stint for Andy as we have been lucky to find a full-time replacement in 6. 7. Match reports: WTFC 1st Team 3-4 Aylsham Last Saturday Town entertained Aylsham, who were one above them in the league. Town had 5 big players out but the squad still looked strong which showed their strength in depth. The game started really well for Town & as ever, many chances were created & the front four of Liam Moriaty, Daniel Harford, Sammy Slater and Jody Peacher looked dangerous.
