For many of those commuters, though, the urban environment is also where they live, work and socialise. For that reason, their riding gear needs to work on and off the bike.
A style on the rise The urban riding gear sector has seen a boom in stylish reinforced denim riding jeans. Once dominated by products using Kevlar (still often referred to, though it’s simply aramid with Dupont’s registered trademark), the market is now very broad with less expensive denim jeans using unbranded aramid. It’s a competitive, full segment of the motorcycle clothing market, complete with male- or female- specific fits and abrasion/impact protection aplenty. There is little doubt that the UK motorbiking consumer is spoilt for choice, and so too is the trade.
