Accepted as a true record of the meeting. The action points will be picked up as we work through the projects. 3. Partnership Executive Make up. Following recent political, local trust and community changes a review of membership was discussed. SF / MS present full council. 4. Project updates Dementia Friendly Town. New target for Dementia Friends set at 1000, currently at 721. 28 organisations / businesses are involved. We have 14 businesses that we are currently working with to improve their physical environment. Presentation on the Dementia Buddy Scheme took place on 23rd April, around 25 attendees. The scheme is being sponsored by Congleton Lions. Multiple activities planned for Dementia Action Week, including DF Sessions, Games Session and a PR stall at The Makers Market to advertise the new Dementia Buddy Scheme th and our Quarterly Activity Leaflet. D Ritherdon to present at the Annual Town Meeting 16 May. Destination Maps. Jackie contacted both Northern Rail and Transport Solutions re large maps at the Railway Station and main bus shelters. Nature Signs to be commissioned to do the work. Heritage Trail Project. Nothing new to report. Agreed we would support the 2020 Heritage & Antique Fortnight. Project on Mental Health and Substance Misuse completed, quite a bit of sustainability around what has been delivered, with ongoing opportunity to keep delivering. Eaton Bank Academy happy to support both Congleton High School and other schools within Cheshire East with what they are successfully delivering with their students. J.Money has completed the new “60 Things to do” leaflet, and issuing to school. Congleton Sports Trust. Funding now in place for the new 3G pitch and Eaton Bank Academy, and will go ahead subject to planning permission. Sports Trust met with CEBC re shortage of pitches across the board and our growing population issue. CEBC have no provision for growth currently, Town Council will need to put some push behind this. A complete “Sports Centre” for Congleton is the aspiration. Cycling TOB Legacy. (no new report at this meeting) GW reported that Cheshire East have now completed their Cycle / Walking Improvement Plan which will include Congleton as a priority area along with Wilmslow. SAS as a new SAS action ward member to continue working with Clair Visco and John Davies to get some delivery. Recent meeting with Nick Kelly around the DEFRA monies will need following up. SAS Walking Map Project. 5 Towns Partnership Project similar to the cycling map project link the 5 old Congleton Borough Towns by a safe and interesting walking route. Sub group of ramblers and partnership chairs. £10k received from the New Homes Bonus Scheme and the project is progressing nicely. Maps could be out by late summer, and PR /activity to launch them will be planned. Health and Wellbeing Fayre 1.10.19 th Sub group met on 8 April and reviewed the prospective list of exhibitors. 36 exhibitors now MS write to trusts for confirmed. MS to contact M.Gleave ( Health Box) re current situation regarding Bromley Farm Centre becoming recognised as a dedicated Connected Communities Centre and find out when the MS contact M Gleave. next CCC meeting is. Mark to contact Glen to make sure he will be able to attend. Play Area/ Play Day Event. MS updated the group that the planned play area improvements for West Rd, Quinta and Townsend Rd were now complete. New Play Area leaflet being produced. Petra had a first shot at this, it was felt that we needed more children at play to be featured on it. Jackie to talk to the Camera Club to see if they can support us in this, Glen offered to do a run round with some of his youth club members on a Monday night 6.30 to 8.00pm to pose for the photos. Petra still to be asked to finish the job once photos are available. J.Money looking to organise a play day in the town centre Tuesday 6th August,10am to 2pm, JM action volunteers will be made welcome. M.Gleave to assist as last year. The fund has generated £5000 for projects this year, 8 groups have benefited from this with £4900 being allocated. This time each successful group will be given a copy of Margaret’s book at a presentation night being arranged by Jackie. This will give us an opportunity to publicise the award scheme and remind residents that the book is still available to buy. MS to ask J.Doe to contact CCF to see if they have any idea what will be available to us this MS contact J.Doe year. Trim Trail. Joint working with CEBC and Friends of Congleton Park. S106 from Sutherland Works development? Keep on file. Nothing new to report. Town Centre Rejuvenation. It was felt that we should wait for the conclusion/adoption of the Neighbourhood Plan and its “action plan” before setting up a subgroup to work on the project(s) arising from it. Could well be looking at autumn time completion date. 750 Year Celebrations JM / JMac to have a discussion with Sue Dale re her ideas for celebrating Congleton’s JM/JMac see Sue Dale re Charter 750th year in 2022. Still to be actioned. 4. Project Update. Cenotaph. Work has already started in that the 14 plaques are being quarried and cut , carving /layout and names have been agreed with Stones of Weymouth and a quantity of Ketley Blue bricks have been purchased. A schedule has been drawn up and we are currently making the deadlines set. David McGifford and Jackie Potts to have a meeting with John Carter to make sure we are DMcG / JP to meet with operating within the Town Council rules of procurement.(28th May) JKC 28th May Fundraising is still ongoing, we have raised just over £52K so far which with The Town Council underwrite means we can progress. We now need to work on reducing that underwrite. JMac / MS / JM and D.McG to put a fundraising plan together to help offset as much of the D.McG / J.Mac / MS to underwrite as possible and aim to get more general public financial support behind the action project. Create a page on CTC Website, involve Army and Air cadets, use both local and social media, crowd funding, collection buckets, Chamber Magazine In kind. Grahams the Link Rd contractor has offered some “In Kind” support and JKC is JKC / Grahams liaising with them on this. Public Realm Strategy. A few issues to be resolved. Parking on Swan Bank actioned, the bollards still to be resited and small amount of signage. CEBC have offered CTC advice on cleaning materials. Leisure Centre. Planning application in ( 18/6319c) and work is planned to begin late summer with around 18 month to complete. This will not affect Hankinson’s Field and will offer both improved and increased range of activities. The Mills. No contact with Scarborough since the last meeting. Bradshaw House.
