Over three days from 7 to 9 July, the badminton competition gathered internationally renowned stars of yesteryear from nine surrounding countries to pit their skills against one another and allowed our members to enjoy watching the superb skills at close quarters. Among the players were Hariyanto Arbi, two-time All-England champion, crowd favourite Boonsak Ponsana, Razif Sidek, Yap Kim Hock and Ong Ewe Hock, and former world number one Foo Kok Keong himself. This tournament was held outside Malaysia for the first time since its inception in 2012. We are indeed proud to be given this vote of confidence by the Cup founders to host the games. Kudos to the Organising Committee and Club staff who have done us proud with the very successful conclusion of this tournament. Keywords Regulation, Parent TV Station, Private TV station, Business orientation, TV broadcasting network JEL Classification D22; L21; L51; L82 Abstract Broadcasting TV occupies a significant position in the community. Therefore, all the countries in the world give attention to TV broadcasting business. In Indonesia, the government requires TV stations to broadcast locally, except through networking. In this state, there are 763 private TV companies broadcasting free to air. Of these, some companies have many TV stations and build various broadcasting networks. In this article, the author reveals the substantial TV stations that control the market, based on literature studies. From the data analysis, there are 14 substantial free to network broadcast private TV broadcasters but owns by eight companies; these include the MNC Group, EMTEK, Viva Media Asia, CTCorp, Media Indonesia, Rajawali Corpora, and Indigo Multimedia. One of the national press figures who seriously think about the issue of nationality is Jakob Oetama. One of the ways Jakob Oetama channeled national ideology was through the press media named the Kompas. The purpose of this study was to find out how Jakob Oetama ideology about nationality in Kompas newspaper. The period is from 1970 to 2001. The research method uses historical research methods consisting of four stages; heuristics, verification, interpretation and historiography. The results showed that Jakob Oetama's national ideology in the first Kompas daily newspaper was Bhinneka Tunggal Ika and national ideology, national integration and disintegration, religious issues, knowing the homeland, and the principle of transcendental humanism. BAB II DESKRIPSI PT. SIRKULASI KOMPAS GRAMEDIA A. Sekilas Perkembangan Kompas Gramedia A.1. Kompas Gramedia Kompas Gramedia (KG) merupakan sebuah perusahaan inti yang membawahi sirkulasi kompas gramedia dan beberapa unit bisnis di Indonesia yang bekerja sama secara langsung dengan Kompas Gramedia. Beranjak dari sejarahnya, Kompas Gramedia sebagai salah satu perusahaan yang terkemuka di Indonesia memiliki peristiwa-peristiwa penting yang menjadi tonggak perjalanan dari sejak berdiri sampai perkembangannya saat ini. Pada tanggal 17 Agustus 1963 terbitlah majalah bulanan intisari oleh Petrus Kanisius dan Jakob Oetama bersama J. Adisubrata dan Irawati SH. Majalah bulanan intisari bertujuan memberikan bacaan untuk membuka cakrawala bagi masyarakat Indonesia. pada saat itu, intisari terbit dengan tampilan hitam putih, tanpa sampul berukuran 14 x 17,5 cm dengan tebal halaman 128 halaman dan majalah ini mendapat sambutan baik dari pembaca dan mencapai oplah 11.000 eksemplar. Pada perkembangan industri printing di masa kini yang bersaing dengan waktu dan teknologi, Kompas Gramedia siap menerima tuntutan dan tantangan dunia sebagai penyedia jasa informasi dengan menyediakan berbagai sarana media seperti surat kabar, majalah, tabloid, 46 buku, radio, media on-line, televisi, karingan toko buku, dan sarana pendidikan. Kompas Gramedia juga hadir di usaha lain seperti jaringan hotel, jaringan percetakan, tempat pameran, kegiatan kebudayaan, pelaksana acara, properti, dan manufaktur (pabrik tissue dan popok). Semua itu menyatu dalam sebuah jaringan media komunikasi terpadu yang pada saat ini sedang melakukan transformasi bisnis berdasarkan nilai-nilai yang diwariskan para pendirinya yang dimanifestasikan dalam KG Values, yaitu 5C : Caring, Credible, Competent, Competitive, Customer Delight untuk menggapai visi dan misi : “Menjadi perusahaan yang terbesar, terbaik, terpadu, dan tersebar di Asia Tenggara melalui usaha berbasis pengetahuan yang menciptakan masyarakat terdidik, tercerahkan, menghargai kebhinekaan dan adil sejahtera”. -

Laki- laki tua yang siang itu berdiri di podium terhormat, tak lagi kuasa menahan rasa haru yang luar biasa. Dia menangis. Jakob Oetama, laki-laki tua itu, Pemimpin Umum Harian Kompas dan Chief Executive Kelompok Kompas-Gramedia, melampiaskan keharuannya. Ada 44 artikel diperoleh dari kedua sw at kabar tersebut Perdebatan tentangformalisasi di Indonesia adalab antara Islam liberal dan Islam fundamental. Jumlab artikel mengenaiformalisasi syariab muncul di dua sw at kabar berbeda. PENDAHULUAN The mass media, both printed and electronic, is sometimes described as pillar of democracy. In the post- Suharto regime, the mass media in Indonesia have undergone a profound, even radical change. From being largely repressed, censored, and psychologically battered, it became relatively unrestrained and free. This paper, however, does not investigate in ”inside‘ the media industry itself, rather it is attempted to evaluate the contribution of the mass media on political change in Indonesia. In this paper, the writer will focus on answering these questions: (a) what are the roles of the mass media on political behavior? (b) to what extent the media were/are contributing factor in Indonesian political change? The first part of the essay provides a general discussion of ,ndonesia‘s mass media landscape. The historical development of mass media is outlined in some details. In the second part, how the mass media influence the political change in Indonesia - is described. Finally, this essay will be ended in a conclusion and a projection of the general election 2009 in a very brief description in Indonesia. B. PEMBAHASAN B.1. Digitization Local Media in Java, Indonesia, as Survival Strategy in Disruptive Era: Will it be a Success? Sunset industry is an economical phenomena faced by local newspapers in Java Island, Indonesia recently. It is a consequence of the development disruptive era which be signed by digital technology. How do the local papers’s leaders comprehend the problem? This research problem is solved by a phenomenology research design in interpretive paradigm. The phenomenology theory and leadership theory in media are used to understand this phenomena. In the leadership phenomenology, the meaning and essence of leadership experience become the main objective of the study. Chief executive officers and editors of iconic local papers in Java Island were interviewed to get the data. It was analyzed by phenomenological procedures.The result showed that to be survived, the local papers developed a new platform in digital format such as pikiranrakyat.com, suaramerdeka.com, jawapos.com and krjogja.com. It was part of the strategy to survive in the middle of new communication technology’s attack such as social media. All local paper created a community service strategy to keep their readers stay with them. Developing a virtual newsroom was part of the strategy. The paper used new platform to get benefit from internet. All papers have new version in online media and try hard to persuade their readers to consume the online version.
