Drinking Fountains BY: Chloe Bitney I have noticed that there has been gum in the drinking fountain, and I think it is very gross for everybody. First of all, drinking fountains are for drinking water and not for spitting gum, and although people think the water is gross, it is still a drinking fountain. Here are some gross gum pics to see. How do you feel when you see gum in the water fountain? Does it gross you out? Let us know your thoughts at [email protected]. [email protected] Terrorist Attack in Dalori, Nigeria BY: Rory Kliewer Boko Haram, Islamic militant group, attacked a Nigerian village on Sunday, February 7. Approaching in cars and on motorcycles, it is suspected that they came from the city of Maiduguri, only fifty miles away. Armed with guns and some reliable way to set fire quickly and efficiently, the group began shooting at the villagers, and if that was not enough destruction, lit up the homes around the village. Survivors recall hearing the screams of children burning alive, bodies already strewn across the ground. Corpses full of bullet holes and charred bodies, black to the bone that was showing through. Following the attack, Boko Haram attempted to attack a nearby refugee camp housing approximately 25,000 people, as well as the people working in the camp. The same method of assault was used, and they did manage to light fire to multiple tents before they reinforcements arrived with heavier artillery, forcing them to back down. In addition to the four-hour attack, three women members of the group were slipped inside as suicide bombers, and later blew themselves up. As for military and reinforcements, many say they did not arrive fast enough to do anything at all, or if they did were not well enough armed, and were overcome in Dalori. Now strong support from the European Union is being given, but fears of another attack remain among witnesses, survivors and other members who received news of the attack in the refugee camp.
