Operation Input air acts on the piston and causes the UHMW polymer diaphragm to open and allow pressurized fluid to flow. The valve open time can be as short as 15 milliseconds. The adjustable open/close stroke (0.005 to 0.025 inches) means very fast response and positive shutoff. The amount dispensed depends on open time, fluid pressure, fluid viscosity, closed open flow adjustment and tip size.

Operation The amount of fluid dispensed is determined by the valve open time, fluid reservoir pressure, size of the dispense tip and fluid viscosity. The 725DA-SS incorporates a piston stroke adjustment that provides adjustable fluid flow and snuff-back control. At the end of the cycle, the sealing head rapidly moves to the valve seat in the direction opposite to the fluid flow, creating a negative pressure that causes a small volume of fluid to be pulled back into the dispens- ing tip. Operation Air pressure acting on the piston shifts the spool to the open position, allowing fluid to flow. At the end of the cycle, spring force on the piston shifts the spool to the closed position. During closing, a snuff-back is created, causing a positive, clean cutoff. The stroke limit stop adjustment is used to vary the snuff-back amount and/or control opening surge. VALVEMATE ™ 7040 The VALVEMATE 7040 controller (page 32) enables the 780S-SS spray valve to achieve exceptional pattern definition.

Operation Input air pressure acts on the piston that retracts the stainless steel precision needle from the nozzle, allowing liquid to flow. Simultaneously, LVLP air flows around the nozzle, dispersing the liquid into fine droplets. At the end of the cycle, the needle moves to stop the fluid flow, while air continues for a few milliseconds to ensure that the nozzle is cleaned of all fluids, providing positive closed open spray cutoff.

Each EFD fluid reservoir is supplied with a constant-bleed precision regulator to ensure constant fluid pressure to the valve.
