OUR DEVELOPMENT PLANS STANSTED DEVELOPMENT Building for the Future Stansted Transformation Programme Overview The programme is focussed on three key areas that will deliver capacity to maximise our single runway operations The existing terminal will be transformed to a dedicated departure only building providing. • 130+ shore line check in & second security area • Expanded IDL with additional seating • Extended Remote Bussing Gate Facility (12 Departures Gates) The Arrivals Terminal is positioned between the current main terminal and the Radisson Blu hotel. This dedicated arrivals building will provide immigration, baggage reclaim, customs and baggage (5,500 bhp). Arrivals Three level building with ~35,000 m2 floor area Upgrade to airside infrastructure to support an increase in peak hour movements from 50 to 55 per hour and to support parking for based aircraft. • 36 new remote aircraft stands Airside • New Rapid Access Taxiway • New Rapid Exit Taxiway 6 Arrivals Building Arrivals building will provide passenger facilities to support 43 mppa in a single consolidated facility 19/05/2017 7 Short Term Capacity Needs – Phase 1 The short term capacity challenge will be addressed by three schemes in Phase 1 Phase 1 of check-in works provides 30 new check-in desks and represents the first phase of the shoreline check-in area and reconfiguration of the departure concourse. Increase in check-in desks necessary to support forecast Check Check In demand. Five projects identified to improve the mix of retail and increase seating. Projects include reconfiguration of domestic reclaim and IDL departure lounge additional free seating. Works due to be delivered during FY18. The new stands will be constructed together with part of the new access taxiway and will form an extension to the existing Echo stands. Increases overall stands from 68 to 76 narrow bodies aircraft equivalents (Code C). Airfield Options regarding building phases still being determined.
