LUKE DERRICK MA COLLECTION

In the shadow of the pandemic of 2020, there has been created an unprecedented opportunity for innovation of expression. In the age of zoom calls, bedroom CEO’s, and Whatsapp conferences, the rulebook has been obliterated.

My collection playfully proposes what the future of the archetypal wardrobe of the Post-Covid urban man might be.

An archive Second World War Trench coat is traced and re-rendered in double face wool cashmere as a dressing gown, blurring the codes of loungewear and outerwear for the perfect housecoat to wear on the reluctant trip to the corner shop. A wool cashmere midnight blue flannel suit jacket, stripped of nearly all unnecessary details into a homewear cardigan, is then able to be transformed again into a tuxedo with the simple addition of a viscose evening scarf (to match his elasticated viscose pyjama pants).

For the journey from the sofa, to the function, and back again.

Heavyweight cotton velvet hoodie, matched with silk shantung pyjama pants, and Friday Boots in black patent. LUKE DERRICK

Stripped down Loro Piana wool-alpaca overcoat, worn with satin pyjama pants, and oat suede 24 Hour Mules. Accessorised by a stretch viscose snood and a bonded nappa leather lanyard. LUKE DERRICK

Silk crepe evening scarf with concealed hand pockets and a single covered button fastening is worn with matching pyjama pants and a stretch viscose faux-placket t-shirt. Accessorised by a silver fountain pen laser-etched with hand drawn florals clipped to the scarf’s hand-sewn milanese buttonhole. Finished with 24 Hour Mules in oat suede.
