Programa de Doctorado en “Lengua, Literatura y Sociedad” AGRADECIMIENTOS En primer lugar, quisiera agradecer a mis dos tutores: Taciana Fisac y José Ramón Álvarez. Además de contar con su valiosa dirección y guía durante la redacción de la tesis, Taciana Fisac me ha apoyado en todos mis proyectos desde que empecé a estudiar chino en 1996 en la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, y ha sido un apoyo imprescindible para mi desarrollo académico. Sin su experiencia escribir esta tesis habría sido mucho más tedioso; el gran pesar que habría sentido cuando estaba estancado en algunas secciones posiblemente me habría hecho abandonar. Por su parte, José Ramón Álvarez ha compartido conmigo sus profundos conocimientos sobre el Daodejing y el taoísmo, que tan presente está en el día a día de la sociedad taiwanesa. Además, han sido muy valiosas también las historias reales de la vida en Taiwán y cómo las relaciona con la mentalidad taoísta. Ambas perspectivas han servido de complemento fundamental para redactar algo que se habría quedado en pura teoría. A mis progenitores no sólo es menester agradecerles por haberme dado el mayor regalo—la vida—sino también por haberme mostrado la importancia del trabajo y de la responsabilidad. Haber sido testigo de una vida llena de dificultades ha sido una bendición; sin todas esas subidas y bajadas y, sobre todo, sin el apoyo fundamental de mi madre no habría llegado a donde estoy ahora. Su comprensión y su amor no se pueden expresar con palabras, sino con la experiencia que me ha brindado esta vida. Quisiera expresar también mis profundos agradecimientos a Santiago Rupérez, gran conocedor de la cultura china y de su faceta espiritual. Las largas charlas sobre el budismo tántrico, que tantas similitudes tiene con el aspecto alquímico del taoísmo, han sido un complemento fundamental para la elaboración de esta investigación. Quizás el momento más revelador fue cuando el propio Santiago me mostró cinabrio en polvo, un compuesto del cual tanto había leído pero que tan lejos estaba de mi experiencia. A Rachid Lamarti y, especialmente, a José Miguel Blanco por ayudarme a estructurar mis ideas de una manera lógica y comprensible. Quizás es debido a la influencia en mí del carácter cíclico del pensamiento chino, o posiblemente sea causa del desarrollo natural del proceso intelectual, en cualquier caso, sin su apoyo el caos habría sido la nota discordante en un proyecto que tanto esfuerzo y tanto tiempo ha necesitado para su culminación. También es de recibo agradecer por su amistad y confianza a Jesús Trapero Sandoval, con quien tantas experiencias del mundo que nos rodea he compartido. En nuestro caso, el análisis no se limita a dividir las partes de un todo sino a relacionar las distintas facetas de varias unidades. Sin duda, las conversaciones con nuestro amigo común Zeng Xianren 曾現仁 , un verdadero boddhisatva de nuestra era, han sido una fuente de inspiración para continuar esta empresa intelectual de naturaleza espiritual. Otro compañero de experiencias y amigo en esta aventura mundanal, cuya madurez intelectual y elevado conocimiento de la cultura china me ha ayudado en el proceso de elaboración de la tesis, es Luis Priego Casanova. A él siempre le estaré agradecido por su amistad y fraternidad desde los inicios de nuestras vidas en Taiwán. Finalmente, quiero también agradecer a mis dos profesores de Taijiquan : Liang Puwan 梁普畹 y Zhang Donghai 張東海 . El primero ha sido y es un apoyo moral y espiritual. Gracias a él descubrí la importancia del cultivo personal y me ha contagiado su pasión por la filosofía china y las artes marciales. También ha compartido conmigo su conocimiento sobre el Libro de los cambios , y muchos de los descubrimientos del estudio se deben a las conversaciones sobre esta obra y su aplicación en la vida y en los textos de esta investigación. Por otro lado, mi profesor en la actualidad, Zhang Donghai, me ha enseñado lo que hasta la fecha considero la mejor manera de entrenar este arte, que cuenta además con los principios básicos del proceso alquímico descrito en las páginas de este estudio. Asimismo, sus explicaciones del budismo y de la búsqueda del verdadero yo han sido de gran ayuda para entender las explicaciones de los textos sobre alquimia que he utilizado en la confección de esta obra.     “SİMYA”DAN MODERN KİMYAYA GEÇİŞ Simyacılar, Aristo’dan esinlenip yüzyıllarca kurşunu altına çevirmeye çalıştı. Ayrıca Ab-ı Hayat denilen ölümsüzlük iksiri yapmayı hedeflediler. Aristo’nun Dört Elementi ve Simyanın Başlangıcı Simya kelimesi, Latince alchima kelimesinden, alchima ise Arapça el-kimia’dan türetilmiştir. El-kimia kelimesi de eski Mısır’ın adı olan ve kara toprak anlamını taşıyan “keme”den gelir. Sümerler M.Ö. 3500’lerde damıtma, ekstraksiyon, kristallendirme ve süblimasyon gibi kimyasal teknikleri keşfetmişti. Bu amaçlarla kullandıkları bazı cihazlar Irak ve ABD müzelerindedir. Büyük İskender, Mısır’ı fethettiğinde bu teknikler unutulmuştu. İskender’in hocası olan Aristo, evrendeki olayları deney ve gözlemlerle değil mantıkla açıklamayı tercih etmişti. Aristo’nun yazdığı kitaplar M.S. 1600’e kadar bilim dünyasını yanlış yönlendirdi. Evrendeki her şeyin hidrojen, helyum, oksijen veya karbon gibi çok sayıda elementten oluştuğu biliniyor. Aristo ise evrendeki nesnelerin dört ana maddeden oluştuğunu yazmıştı. Ona göre her şey toprak, hava, su ve ateşten oluşurdu. Ona göre odun ateşe atılınca çıkan duman gazı, su damlaları suyu, alevler ateşi ve kül de toprağı temsil ediyordu. Aristo, odunun yanınca ana elementlerine ayrıldığını söylüyor ve herkesi inandırıyordu. Aristo, cisimleri oluşturan dört ana maddenin miktarları, farklı cisimlerde farklı oranlarda olduğu için bazıları altın bazıları da kurşun olmuş derdi. Bu nedenle simyacılar, kurşunu altından farklı kılan eksik maddeyi ekleyip kurşunu altına çevirmeyi hedefledi. Zosimos’un kitabındaki damıtma cihazı İlk Simyacılar Bilinen ilk Çinli simyacı Wei Boyang’dır. M.S. 142’de yazdığı kitapta barutun formülünü ilk kez o açıkladı. İlk Mısırlı simyacı M.S. 300’lerde doğan Zosimos’tur. Bilinen ilk simya kitaplarını yazan Zosimos’un Yunanca yazdığı 1 eserler, Suriye ve Bizans’ta tercüme edildi.

In particular, it focuses primarily on the visual analogs in the Register, which consists of one hundred titled picture-poem sequences. Approaching the Register through the method of “period eye,” this thesis emphasizes on two factors that shaped the author’s compositional strategy: the potentiality of the print medium and the influence of the Learning of the Way (daoxue) conceptual framework. Section 1 offers factual information concerning the production and reception of the Register. Section 2 reveals the connection between the printed plum blossoms and their counterparts in the Song dynasty (960–1279) illustrated books. Section 3 investigates the conceptual foundation of the visual analogs in the Learning of the Way framework. ii RESUME Cette thèse examine l’impact historique des images imprimées dans la Chine du treizième siècle à travers l’étude du Registre des portraits de fleurs de prunier (Meihua xishen pu, d. 1238), le livre le plus ancien illustrant des fleurs de prunier. He received his Ph.D. in History and Sociology of Science from the University of Pennsylvania in I 999. His dissertation was on "The transformations of Chinese medicine dur­ ing the Northern Song dynasty (920-1127)." The dissertation analysed how by the end of the Northern Song dynasty three past medical approaches converged into one comprehensive medical system. He is currently working on a history of the first imperially sponsored pharmacy in China and on the influence of the Song emperor Huizang on medicine.] * * * Acupuncture is probably one of the most renowned topics when traditional Chi­ nese medicine is discussed. Indeed, more often than not, when people discuss traditional Chinese medicine one of the first issues they discuss is acu-moxa therapy (see definition below). Acu-moxa therapy is certainly one of the most intriguing and unintuitive therapeutic skills in the arsenal of traditional Chinese medicine. However in spite of this, little research has been conducted on the history of this topic. Existing works mostly concentrate on either the question of the origin of acu-moxa therapy or provide a general overview of its history.2 This paper offers a different approach - it compares the contents of six surviving texts of acu-moxa therapy dating to the late Tang and early Song dynasties. By com­ paring the contents of these works, I attempt to examine changes in the manu­ scripts available to practitioners of that era.

Ge hong's thought of “ziran” basically extends the meaning of “ziran” in the tao te ching, but in the extension, he pushes the scope of application of “ziran” to a metaphysical world, a physical natural existence and human society. Moreover, he believes that transcendental “ziran” and realistic “ziran” are closely related. People can change or even create realistic “ziran” by grasping transcendental “ziran”. His special understanding of “ziran” also provides important examples and theoretical support for his thought of “immortals can be acquired through learning”. KEYWORDS: Ziran, Baopuzi, Ge hong 1. Introduction As a famous Taoist in the Jin Dynasty, Ge Hong’s thoughts have a tremendous influence. Joseph once called him “the greatest alchemist in Chinese history” [1]. Although he was a Taoist, he was not a man of blind faith at that time, but a man with high scientific literacy. As his classic work, Baopuzi also embodied this strong scientific nature. Joseph also said that the “earlier chapters of his Pao phu Tsu contained some scientific thinking at what appears to be a high level”[1]. Although Ge Hong defined the inner chapter of Baopuzi as “saying yellow and white” in author's preface, and later generations usually praised Ge Hong's contribution to the golden elixir thought of Taoism, Ge Hong also focused on another core issue in the inner chapter of Baopuzi -” Immortals (shenxian 神仙) can be acquired through learning “(shen xian ke yi xue zhi 神仙可以学致)[2], “ziran 自然” is a core concept used by Ge Hong in solving this problem, just as Chen Kewen said “Ge Hong's philosophy of “ziran” is the theoretical basis of his theory of immortals.
