Mail: [email protected]. 7 In 1931, several osseous and lithic artefacts, as well as fish and whalebones, were 8 discovered in the wetland at the Jortveit farm in Southern Norway. In 2018-19, a 9 small-scale excavation at the original find location took place and a series of AMS- 10 dates were produced. The excavation identified a mud profile with exceptional 11 preservation conditions. At ⁓125-130 cm depth, the mud contained unburnt fish 12 and whale bones, burnt wooden sticks and lithic artefacts. AMS-dates of stray finds 13 and samples retrieved during the excavation date to the period roughly between 14 3700-2500 cal BCE, i.e. Scandinavian Early and Middle Neolithic Periods. Nearly 15 all bones belong to the Atlantic bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus), but there was 16 found also cod (Gadus morhua) and orca (Orcinus orca). The results are compared 17 to local climate and landscape reconstructions, and the question of marine 18 adaptation in the Neolithic is discussed. Bakgrunnen for undersøkelsen var gjenstandsfunn (løsfunn) oppdaget i sammenheng med drenering av et våtmarksområde i 1931 og senere år. Målet med undersøkelsen var å undersøke om spor fra boplassaktivitet var bevart i mudderlaget i myra. I 2020 ble det gravd to sjakter i nordøst (nr. 7 og 9), samt en sjakt (nr. 8) mellom sjakt 7 og den sentrale dreneringen. I sjakt 7 og 9 ble det funnet fiskebein i et komprimert mudderlag mellom dyrkingsjord og skjell. Lagene med mudder var tynnere og dårligere bevart enn i sjakter gravd sentralt på myra i 2018 og 2019. I sjakt 8 ble det funnet fiskebein mellom 90 og 122 cm dybde.

Hunter-Gatherer Persistency and Human–Animal Relations in Southern Norway: The Alveberget Case https://doi.org/10.1515/opar-2020-0176 received November 19, 2020; accepted June 18, 2021 Abstract: This article aims to contribute novel data and perspectives into the long-standing debate about economic strategies in the fourth and third millennium in South Norway, by introducing novel results from a Pitted Ware coastal site in Agder County, southern Norway. The analysis of artifactual and faunal assemblages as well as lipid analysis from ceramics indicate a varied subsistence economy with terrestrial hunting, gathering, and specialized marine fishing strategies, targeting Atlantic bluefin tuna and seals. These procurement strategies were maintained throughout the middle and into the late Neolithic period (c. 3300–2200 BCE). No unequivocal evidence of cultivation was documented before the early Bronze Age, around 1700 BCE. This article maintains that exploring and explaining long-time continuity, and the environmental, cultural, and social mechanisms, which underwrite enduring traditions, remains a perti- nent issue in Neolithic archeology. To broaden our understanding of the causes underlying cultural persis- tence, we need to move beyond a view of foraging peoples as either ecologically adapted or as economically optimized and employ a perspective that acknowledges the fundamental importance of human–animal relations in prehistoric lives and worldviews. Drawing on insights from relational anthropology and multi- species archaeology, we maintain that an animist ontology endured among the Pitted Ware groups and endorsed the foraging persistency characterizing the third millennium in Southern Norway.

Stedet representerer et typisk sørlandsk kystlandskap hvor mye av den historiske bebyggelsen er vendt mot sjøen eller nært tilknyttet sjøen. Det er ca. 1.100 fastboende i Eidebygda, sommerstid er det flere tusen flere på campingplasser og i fritidsbebyggelse. Mange boliger spredt i hele bygda benyttes i hovedsak som fritidsboliger. Hele planområdet er på ca. 124 dekar. Homborsund er definert som lokalsenter i kommuneplanen og vekstområde i ATP samarbeidet Arendalsregionen. Det innebærer at Homborsund er av de stedene der man ønsker at 80% av utviklingen i kommunen skal komme. Homborsund er et attraktivt mål for reiseliv og fritidsbruk. Bygda har mange gode kvaliteter som gjør det til en satsning for framtidsinvestering. Den gamle, tradisjonelle byggeskikken på Sørlandet skal ha mye av æren for dette og den skal også danne utgangspunktet for utformingen av de nye byggene i fremtiden. Man må ha klart for seg at dette prosjektet dreier seg 100 % om næring som utgangspunkt. Nærbutikken er avhengig av lokalsamfunnet og butikken er en av nervene for et velfungerende lokalsamfunn igjen. Derfor får man her en rekke positive elementer som følger med for lokalsamfunnet.

Det ble varslet oppstart for påbegynt planarbeid høsten 2013. Området er på om lag 200 dekar og foreslås utbygd med inntil om 105 boenheter. Det settes krav til detaljregulering for de enkelte områder innenfor planen. Området er tenkt utbygd etappevis over tid og etter behov. Planområdet ligger syd for eksisterende bebyggelse på Jortveit og i tilknytting til skole og barnehage. Eksisterende tursti/lysløype i området er tatt inn i planen. Det er satt rekkefølgekrav for utbedring av Homborsundveien med gang-/sykkelvei før området kan utbygges. I kommuneplanen 2015- 2027 er Homborsund et av lokalsentrene som er utpekt som et område der boligutbygging og fortetting skal skje. Rådmannen påpeker at det er et dilemma mellom målsetningene i kommuneplanen og målsetningene i ATP-arbeidet. Lokalisering av boliger i Homborsund vil ikke bygge opp under nasjonale målsetninger og målsetninger i ATP om at trafikkveksten skal tas med kollektiv, gange og sykkel.

Normalt er dette NINAs rapportering til oppdragsgiver etter gjennomført forsknings-, overvåkings- eller utredningsarbeid. I tillegg vil serien favne mye av instituttets øvrige rapportering, for eksempel fra seminarer og konferanser, resultater av eget forsknings- og utredningsarbeid og litteraturstudier. NINA Rapport kan også utgis på annet språk når det er hensiktsmessig. NINA Temahefte Som navnet angir behandler temaheftene spesielle emner. Heftene utarbeides etter behov og serien favner svært vidt; fra systematiske bestemmelsesnøkler til informasjon om viktige problemstillinger i samfunnet. NINA Temahefte gis vanligvis en populærvitenskapelig form med mer vekt på illustrasjoner enn NINA Rapport. NINA Fakta Faktaarkene har som mål å gjøre NINAs forskningsresultater raskt og enkelt tilgjengelig for et større publikum. De sendes til presse, ideelle organisasjoner, naturforvaltningen på ulike nivå, politikere og andre spesielt interesserte. Faktaarkene gir en kort framstilling av noen av våre viktigste forskningstema. Annen publisering I tillegg til rapporteringen i NINAs egne serier publiserer instituttets ansatte en stor del av sine vitenskapelige resultater i internasjonale journaler, populærfaglige bøker og tidsskrifter. Some of this is reported in the annual report, which includes an overview and the most important information. The sustainability report itself contains more detailed information about the Group and its subsidiaries. The first part of the sustainability report contains information about the Group’s acti- vities in the areas of sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), as well as a more detailed explanation of the reporting process. This includes a description of our work with stakeholders and how the Group and individual companies assess the materiality of topics relating to sustainability. This part of the report also contains a description of the Group’s supply chains and our activities in relation to the areas of innovation and the business environment. This is also where aggregated data for the whole Group are presented. The second part of the sustainability report is specific for each individual reporting company. It includes a short introduction to the company in question, data for the sustainability topics that are reported by all of the companies in the Group, and data for the topics that are particularly relevant to the individual company. Finally, the methodology used to collect data is presented, together with more technical information about the reporting process.
