It has 2 smaller stamp marks on the tang from Gifu Provence which is near the Seki arsenal and was probably utilized after allied bombers attacked the area. 59 Japanese Samurai Sword – blade only: WW II, pattern Shin-Gunto, late 1944. Type: Katana, 400-600 cutting edge 26”; Signature: Kane Haru; Date: August 1944; Temper Line: Suguba, (straight) not visible in most places due to poor condition of the polish.
