    PURE BRED POULTRY & WATERFOWL SALE SATURDAY 5th OCTOBER 2019 Well what a Sale!!!!! Trade was electric from start to finish. It was a pair of Rare Silver Green Wing Teal that topped the prices making £200. A run of Silver Duckwing Welsummers caught the eye, these sold for £190. All large fowl pullets, whether it be Rhode Island Reds, Light Sussex, Buff Sussex or Marans averaged over £25 per head which was extremely good for the time of year. In the bantam section silkies stole the show with a trio of whites selling to £155, closely followed by 2 white bearded Silkie Pullets making £120. Close to 250 lots in the deadstock section; lots included small cabins, carrying crates, incubators, poultry drinkers and accessories which were in demand throughout. Top price of the day in the poultry deadstock section was a Brinsea Octagon 20 Incubator making £95. Hatching eggs topped at £22 for 12 Barnevelder eggs. Poultry Auctioneer Jeremy Greenhalgh said “Trade surpassed all my expectations with many good quality trios selling for premium prices, especially Ornamental Waterfowl selling.” Next Sale is Saturday 16th November 2019.
