It is presumed to be a security and escape facility for high-ranking government officials in the 1970s and holds historical significance in the fact that it is a holdover from the Cold War era. ‣ It was designated as a future heritage of Seoul in 2013, and opened in October of this year as a specialized complex arts and culture space in Yeouido. - A 150-pyeong exhibition space and 20-pyeong historical gallery were created while preserving the original state of the facility. ‣ Permanent and special exhibitions are held frequently (exhibition schedules can be checked on the website). ‣ How to enjoy SeMa Bunker - Take a look around the shower booth and restroom preserved in the original state in the room that is presumed to have been used by the VIP (you can also try sitting on the restored VIP sofa) - See the 50cm piece of the bunker's core to get an idea of the thickness of the bunker (you can verify that the bunker was built meticulously to endure all types of bombs) - See the original state of the bunker at the time of discovery and watch a clip of the planning process at the historic gallery (VIP space) · 7 min walk from Exit 3 of Yeouido Station on Subway Line 5/9 · Use public parking lot in front of Yeouido Park (500won per 5 min), large bus parking available · Can create tour products themed 'Secrets of Seoul' in connection with the Gyeonghuigung Palace Air-raid Shelter and the Ghost Station in Sinseol-dong · Surrounding attractions include the Kensington Hotel Sky Lounge, Seoul Conrad Hotel Sky Lounge, Yeouido Saetgang Ecological Park, etc. - 1 - From oil to culture, Oil Tank Culture Park Oil Tank Culture Park - Free admission 87, Jeungsan-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul - T6 cafe : beverages 4,000~6,000won Park : open all year www.parks.seoul.go.kr/culturetank Exhibition center : Tue~Sun 09:00~18:00 ※Group inquiries +82-2-376-8410 / KOR & ENG Website: KOR / On-site : KOR/ENG/CHN/JPN information available leaflets provided <View> <Community Center> <Pavilion Entrance> ‣ The oil tank constructed by Seoul after the oil crisis in 1973 has been revived into a complex cultural space. - The oil tank was classified as a class-1 security facility, prohibited from public access until recently ‣ Consists of 5 tanks that have been transformed into theaters or exhibitions, 1 new tank and an outdoor cultural space Facility Classification Details - The plaza at the entrance of the Oil Tank Culture Park T0 Culture Yard - Various events such as public markets, performances, etc., are held (refer to website for 2018 event schedule) - A tank that was used to store oil.
