The Business Connect postmaster kit includes the following materials: Letter to Postmasters and Station and Branch Managers (see Exhibit A, page 4). Read this letter to learn about the promotional materials and how to use them. Contest Guide (see Exhibit B, pages 5–6). Refer to this guide for contest guidelines, presentation tips, and key mes- sages. Inventory Reference Sheet (see Exhibit C, pages 7–8). Order the materials on this sheet from the Business Connect Data Center (BCDC) order site (while supplies last) to promote our international shipping services and EDDM. International Business and Shipping DVD (see Exhibit D, page 9). Play this DVD for businesses during an “International Business and Shipping” group event. International Shipping Folder Leave-Behind (see Exhibit E, page 10). Give the folder to customers after you meet with them and to attendees when you host a group event for “International Business and Shipping” Carrier Tear Pads (see Exhibit F, page 11). Distribute the sheets to your letter/rural carriers to share with customers. Use material from your Quarter 3 EDDM kit to continue to promote EDDM to local businesses. Note: If needed, you can order more leave-behinds from the BCDC order site at http://blue.usps.gov/marketing/businessconnect/ welcome.htm; in the right side box, click Go to Business Connect Data Center/Reports. You may also order past materials (such as tear pads) from inventory to support your efforts. Kits should arrive in offices by the last week in September. Because the allegations concentratti prkarily on practices at the Pittsburgh Post Office, the major portion of our rev&w was at that facility. A summary of our findings with regard to the allegations follows. A !?ore detailed discussion of the allegations is in the enclosure. Using clerks for mail handler autres LS author zzea Allegations were made that the Pittsburgh Post Office practices craft discrimination by using hiqher salaried clerks to perform the duties usually assigned to lower salaried mail nandlers. For example, look at the large variety of rates that I have found on my personal mail received since January 1, 1995. These rates are all below $1.00. Can you add to this list, or identify the use. The first group is what they call admail. The standard rate is .268Q for letter size in lots of 1,000 for firms having a permit. For oversize mail the standard rate for permit mail, over 1,000 pieces, is 28 5 0. The other rates are where mail is sorted by computer into letter carrier walks ordered by individual addresses. These rates should all have the BULK designation. There are more rates in this series 5 .20 BULK 2 .21 BULK 5 .26 BULK 5 .27 BULK - rate probably .26 and refund for overpayment 2 .28 BULK The second group of strange rates is derived from "Incentive" mail. These rates must be obtained from Ottawa. They depend on OCR sorting and volume. These WSUs are provided for mail processing operations, including mail preparation; distribution of letter and flat mail; distribution of irregular parcels and pieces (IPPs); processing special category mail; distribution of parcel post; bulk sorting and materials handling operations; computer forwarding system (CFS) operations; and office and clerical operations. Section 33 instructs the analyst to use these WSUs in the assembly of the work space requirements for a mail processing facility. All WSUs are designed with current postal equipment. WSUs may have to be adjusted for future obsolete equipment.
