Técnico em Meio Ambiente (2011) pela Escola Técnica Estadual (ETEC) Pedro D´Arcádia Neto, Assis – SP, e, formado em licenciatura e bacharelado no curso de Ciências Biológicas (2016) na Universidade Estadual do Norte do Paraná (UENP), Campus Luis Meneghel, Bandeirantes – PR. Foi monitor da disciplina de Invertebrados I e II por um período de um ano. Foi estagiário do Programa de Extensão Universitária (PROEXT) do Governo Federal, contemplando as áreas de saúde da criança e educação ambiental, por seis meses, em escolas municipais do município de Bandeirantes – PR. Participou de um intercâmbio de um ano e meio na Universidade de Adelaide, Adelaide, Austrália, pelo programa do Governo Federal, Ciência sem Fronteiras. No último ano de graduação, de volta a UENP foi bolsista pela Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) no Programa Institucional de Bolsas de Iniciação à Docência (PIBID), em escolas municipais de Bandeirantes – PR, e, voluntário pelo Ministério da Defesa no Projeto Rondon atuando na Operação Itacaiúnas, Abel Figueiredo – PA. Information about the scientific collections is made available more and more often. The digitisation of such resources allows us to verify their value and share these records with other scientists – and they are usually rich in taxa and unique in the world. Moreover, such information significantly enriches local and global knowledge about biodiversi- ty. The digitisation of the resources of the Zoology Research Group, University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland) allowed presenting a substantial collection of scale insects (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha). The collection counts 9369 slide-mounted specimens, about 200 alcohol-preserved samples, close to 2500 dry specimens stored in glass vials and 1319 amber inclu- sions representing 343 taxa (289 identified to species level), 158 genera and 36 families (29 extant and seven extinct).

According to the latest data, the scale insect fauna of the whole Greek territory includes 207 species; of which 187 species are recorded from mainland Greece and the minor islands, whereas only 87 species are known from Crete. The most rich families are the Diaspididae (with 86 species), followed by Coccidae (with 35 species) and Pseudococcidae (with 34 species). In this study the results of a zoogeographic analysis of scale insect fauna from mainland Greece and Crete are also presented. Five species, four from mainland Greece and one from Crete are considered to be endemic.

The present work aimed to update and map the spatial distribution of the intermediate host snails of F. hepatica in Brazil. Data on the distribution of lymnaeids species were compiled from the Collection of Medical Malacology (Fiocruz-CMM, CPqRR), Collection of Malacology (MZUSP), “SpeciesLink” (CRIA) network and through systematic surveys in the literature. Our maps of the distribution of lymnaeids show that Pseudosuccinea columella is the most common species and it is widespread in the South and Southeast with few records in the Midwest, North and Northeast regions. The distribution of the Galba viatrix, G. cubensis and G. truncatula showed a few records in the South and Southeast regions, they were not reported for the Midwest, North and Northeast. In addition, in the South region there are a few records for G. viatrix and one occurrence of Lymnaea rupestris. Our findings resulted in the first map of the spatial distribution of Lymnaeidae species in Brazil which might be useful to better understand the fasciolosis distribution and delineate priority areas for control interventions.
